**** The Official Google Pixel 3 Thread ****

Having simulated the notch on my P2XL, I just don't like it. I'm not interested in making compromises, but having said that I took ages to upgrade from the PXL to the P2XL and that was based on the negative comments regarding the screen. So I'll probably have to wait until I see the new handset in the flesh.

From experience since the Pixel range launched, it's better to wait a couple of months after launch to buy anyway because the price takes a hefty fall very quickly.

I am I the only one who is not bothered by the notch or chin ?

It's the specs / performance / features I care about. If they can somehow beat the XL2 camera then I am signed up. Because even now 10 months on it's still a country mile better than any other phone!

Quite the exaggeration there.

I just can't believe Google would be so silly to just ignore so many negative comments about a notch and then go ahead and implement one in their Pixel 3 XL phone, it is an astounding level of arrogance that I would expect from Apple, but not so much from Google, why do they have to just copy everyone? What happened to being original, Samsung can do it without a notch so why can't Google?!

That and the removal of the headphone jack. But I can't expect much from a HTC designed phone.

Another 'leak' video purpotedly showing the Pixel 3 XL, that notch is ridiculous :p

Thanks for posting that video "leak".

A couple of items confirm what I have seen but at least two others I have not seen before:

1. The display is 6.7 inches, larger than the 2 XL at 6 inches. I thought earlier leaks had the panel size at 6.2 inches? Full panel is shown as 2960 x 1440.

2. The battery is 3430 mAh. I believe the Pixel 2 XL battery was 3520 mAh.

3. The rear and front cameras appear to be the same size as the Pixel 2 XL.

4. The Snapdragon 845 chipset is confirmed.

The 6.7 inch display, if true, is large and wonder if the notch has something to do with the choice.

I'm not sure there are that many. Yes, this notch is pretty bad, but notches on the whole aren't as hated as all that I don't think.

Also, I'm not sure how not having a notch is more 'original' than having one?

I'm still rocking a Nexus 5.

I want a phone that get it's updated in a timely fashion. Which usually means direct from Google.

But I also want it to not cost the earth. Under £400 would be nice.

The Pixel 2 is on offer at the moment.

That's what I did when the original Pixel launched. I waited for it. And then when the cost was ridiculous bought a Nexus 5 before they sold out.

Might end up with a Pixel 2 when this does launch.
