So the end result is effectively (in the pixel 3's case) having a massive top bezel due to the depth of the notch. Seems a very strange workaround to something that it meant to promote higher display to overall footprint ratio.
My dreams of a 5.8" bezel less pixel phone is absolutely over. Will never happen.
Pixel 3 non XL is close, but not close enough....and I guess it will be £629+?
OP6T I think....maybe![]()

I guess you end up with, at best something that looked like the 2 XL, at worst something that looked like the 2... in yet people are saying just buy the 3 instead of the 3 XL... which could look like the 3 XL with it's notch hidden... but smaller![]()
You wouldn't though. The vertical bezel will be much much taller on the 3xl than the 2xl with it hidden. Yep completely pointless, I see no reason why people have to defend the notch, Would you shove a notch in on your TV screen? I certainly wouldn't!
Except a TV doesn't need a camera and other sensors at the top of the screen like a phone does. Until we have a proper solution then the notch stays. I don't have a problem with the notch at all. On the OP6 it isn't that bad and it gives me a bit more screen real estate. The notch on the 3 XL is ridiculous in size, however.
the front camera can die for all I care
Because the majority of their customers use the front camera? This is actually a good point, I never ever use the front camera. Why do they assume we are all narcissists.![]()
