**** The Official Google Pixel 3 Thread ****

OK fair enough, can you remind me when the last pixel event date was? Was it in June July August or September I forget?

And the other nexus release and pixel release dates?

There's been what 9 phones from Google. Other than nexus 1, what were the rest?

You still miss the point and have failed to read what I said. Let me paste it again so you can digest in your own sweet time .

"I would wait and would think within the next 3 to 4 months you would know pretty much how the pixel 4 will shape up."

*Please note. No mention of release date or Google event. We have this wonderful thing called the internet and a big fan fair around leaks. We have already seen two leaks come out last week with specs and fan made renders. I am sure as quoted above we will have a good idea of what hardware specs and what it will look like in the next 3 or 4 months .

I have owned all the the Nexus devices and all the pixel devices I am well aware when the majority of them drop. Ranging from September - November

I am also well aware of when leaks tend to drop. I hope that has cleared things up for you and you can relax.

you seem to be struggling now. first 3 words of my last post. the first 3. did you see them? i agreed and said fair enough. you were right there.

5 months away from release

you had previously said this so incorrectly thought you were still plugging this idea that we were close to a release.

there will always be leaks. now that s10 is out, we will soon have s11 leaks. going off possible leaks as a basis on buying a phone or not would be a mistake imo. you don't know until it's officially stated, and even then released until you get a good idea of what the phone will be like. i think you'd be foolish in march to delay buying an s10 to hold out for a possible pixel 4 phone

S10 is nice and would be a no brainer if you were coming from a 2 year old phone however personally I would wait and would think within the next 3 to 4 months you would know pretty much how the pixel 4 will shape up.

Saying that you might be not fussed by stock or having a pixel. I would imagine you will take a hit selling the p3 and paying top whack for the Samsung.

If the rumours are true we will get a Samsung screen with a hole punch anyway.

Well I managed to grab the P3 for £389 so I could potentially break even or make a few £.

The cost of the S10e puts me off, plus they don't hold their value!

Fair enough. That was a cracking price, was it the hot deals cpw one ?

Well if you break even then I guess the choice is yours.
No doubt head to head the S10 would win most rounds. I think if going from stock to layied software would be one of the only downsides, but not an issue for some and can customised.

Was the Mobile Phones Direct. Contract return. Classes as refurbished but basically brand new.

Cool. Well yes the S10 is a generation ahead and certainly set the benchmark for the year. I am a sucka for stock having had every nexus and pixel device and will no doubt grab a P4. Just hope it is a bit more cutting edge on release ( around October ;) )

Yeah same here really. I'm just wondering if my eyes will adjust to this sub-par screen, or whether it will continue to annoy me!

I caved and decided to check how bad my Pixel screen was ( I could tell it wasn't right)

Unbelievable eh!

Strange choice and timing. They really should be releasing this at the same time as the P4. Or how about don't release them and make the P3 range that reduced price on the P4 release date?

That would be far too sensible.

Its what Apple are starting to do - the new iPad Air is basically an iPad Pro 10.5 with a few choice spec drops.

Just becomes confusion and the less tech savvy get a bum deal. I remember my sister going from Samsung galaxy S6 to some sort of 'galaxy J' when she tried to "upgrade" just got sold a line by the guy down the phone.

Agreed. The less techy savy then will in 6 months of owning this "latest pixel phone" start saying how rubbish pixels are and how bad/slow android is, not realising they are buying a phone worse than one that came out 6 months ago. If they want to make a non flagship phone, great. Revive the nexus brand and I'm 100 behind it. Pixel was supposed to be top of the range.

Got fed up with my old Moto G5 running out of space, treated myself to a Pixel 3 XL. Pretty impressed so far, but I expected to coming from an old cheapo to a modern flagship.

Mostly just browse and snap pictures on my phone, so fits the bill. Going to take some getting used to the size of the thing and the fingerprint reader position.

Nearly dropped the damn thing already, who thought glossy sides were a good idea? Ordered the fabric case, and the wireless charging stand because apparently I have more money than sense today...
