**** The Official Google Pixel 3 Thread ****

It's bloody ugly and only its mother can love it.

But still, if it delivers in camera performance I'll be all over it with a bag over its face.

Must admit, I doubt I will change my phone for the 3 (coming from a 2XL) but I know where you're coming from and I would happily drop down a size a little, sometimes. I'm always around 50/50 whether i want bigger screen (easier to see) or easier to hold/use. The size of the 2XL is nice for the eyes but not so great for the hands. I have got used to it, but still.
 
Each to their own :) - given its flagship price I don't see how it's a poor man's anything, but we can agree to disagree there :)

IMO a lot of devices look the same/similar these days anyway! - Personally I am using an S8 now and whilst it's a great device, all the annoying Samsung bloat and dedicated Bixby button is annoying for me! Hence my interest in the Pixel 3. It's also a work device so i cannot root it. Excellent hardware though.
 
Don't hugely like the look of the notch on the XL, I can't unsee the robot's face now it's been mentioned - regardless, I think that's where my upgrade will be. An XL with 128GB should do me fine, would have liked a little more storage but I can live with less.
 
Engadget reporting that when the Pixel 3 range launches it might include a special wireless charging dock. The dock might be the Pixel Stand referred to in the lastest version of Google App Beta, which with your permission could operate as a trusted dock.

If enabled, you would be able to summon Google Assistant even if the phone is locked.

According to Android Authority:

"Up to this point, we knew Google was working on a new “dreamliner” category that would allow various companies to produce wireless chargers that would include unknown features. These mentions of the Pixel Stand are our first clues that Google will also be making a dock to compete in this product category. Based on the Pixel Stand name, there’s reason to believe that the accessory will be compatible with the upcoming Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL."
