Why not, because it would look tosh. It would be fast and sound great but look naff. :) I understand that is a matter of choice though.
Just trying to say I would not buy something I don't like the look of and considering it's the front of the phone where you look the most then it's simply my preference not to have a notch.
 
It does look bloody hideous. I don't know what the Google design team were smoking but they deserve a thorough beating.

For me though, as long is the camera is class leading and the rest of the phone is solid I'll be having it. Function over form this time round, I'll appreciate the great camera, front facing speakers, fast updates and stock Android.

It wouldn't stop me if it was an amazing car, I'd just get it wrapped. :p Like you can just hide the notch...

**EDIT** I do get your point though btw. But still, would just buy it and hide it :)
 
Yup as per usual, google **** up sizes yet again which means none of the pixels will be no go for me again....

Pixel 3 screen too small (coming from GS 8 5.8" screen)
Pixel 3 XL notch is awful looking and it's too big anyway
 
Notches on the latest phones haven't really bothered me; some people are really against it. I looked at a OnePlus 6 last week and thought the notch wasn't that intrusive.

The notch on that latest 3 XL looks pretty big though :D
 
I think I'll be getting a regular version this year as well - the look of that notch is unbearable to me. After trying an iPhone X last year for a couple of weeks I found it too obtrusive. This one will be worse.
 
Looks awful... Yes you can hide the notch with sw but due to the depth of the notch you are then left with a massive top bezel.
Really can't understand what the hell Google were thinking with this phone.
Regular pixel 3 is probably the one to go for but then the screen may end up too small for most peolle.
