***THE OFFICIAL GTX480/470 END USER REVIEW THREAD***

hmm with bbfc2 dx9 is now somehow now the worst performing  and also looks like ****, dx11 only makes the shadows nice but that's just a little too much to make it a bit nasty framerate wise, the sweetspot really is dx10, 4xaa in 3D for me, seems to be averaging 40-45fps overall

need to really clock this card, not looked into that yet, what's the average i should be looking at without voltage tweaks, 775 core and what memory? i got a [email protected] that should be ok yeah? cos whenever i've checked cpu gaming benchmarks the gains to be had for clocking over 3.4 were extremely minimal

im running 750mhz at 1025mv. for 800mhz it took 1050mv to keep it stable, but the fan would ram right up to cool things down.

I got hold of my Asus GTX 480 on Wednesday, here is my thoughts on it. :)
A few pics of the card in my htpc -

I will be ripping the stock cooler off this weekend and adding an EK water block which was meant to arrive today but I missed the delivery.
:)

Cool :D I used to run SLi with 2x GTX275 in the same HTPC case. It's really isn't that bad cooling wise.:p

So are the fan speeds equivalent to a gtx 2xx series? 50% is around 1600rpm on mine and its pretty loud. Have to drop it to around 30% when at idle.

No I wouldn't say that. I could just hear my GTX280s even at 1300rpm albeit they weren't making that much noise at all. The GTX470s I can't hear at all at that speed.

Interesting.
What res you running @ bee ?
Do you have BLOOM And HSAO on ?
I'm running a 5850 @1920 x 1200, 4 x aa / 16 x af.
bloom off and hsao off. But everything else max.
And with them settings, it runs smooth. part from when it gets nuts.

Can't use 8 x aa or have hsao on, (hsao take away the smoothnes) as this kills my performance.

I run at 1680x1050 8AA / 16AF
Bloom off, HSAO on, all settings maxed.
everything is really smooth, haven't booted fraps to check fps
