Still don't have Doc OP

Traded in my brawl pack for the standard 40 dust yesterday

Not playing the RNG that is arena atm as i'm waiting for the new packs (oh and I'm poo at arena lol)

I'm play strifco's pally and sitting at 18-19 :(

I am trying to wean myself of hunter and can't face 30 card priest decks :(

It's hilarious. Everyone thinks they're being clever playing priest when Miracle destroys them. Never had such fun and easy farming. Just mulligan for Auctioneer and/or Sprint.

Oh I always play Hunter Zoo for brawl hasn't let me down yet max 3 games for my pack

Was thinking about buying some Grand Tournament packs but the cards I have seen so far look mostly rubbish and too weak for constructed beyond novelty decks.

I wasn't playing when GVG came out, but I'm told most of the good cards in that set were held back for the full set reveal. I wouldn't be surprised if that happens again.

Confuse is absolutely crazy and gives Priest the reach it needs to be competitive. If your opponent has no taunts it's effectively Inner Fire for every guy you control, and Priest loves to boost health.

Confuse is too cheap for what it does in my opinion for Priest. It could do with being more expensive since its not limited to a number of minions. I can see some stupid stuff coming from that very late game for large damage swings with Inner Fire.

I'm still to see cards that will fix the OP'ness of Face Huntard :(

Taunts + healing?

Try playing some Face Hunter yourself and you'll get a feel for what it struggles to deal with... I had some success with it at the lower ranks to quickly climb a little bit, but there were plenty of games I found un-winnable, and above about rank 18 or so it was losing more games than it was winning...

If the opponent played a taunt, especially someting like a sludge belcher, or sunwalker... there was often very little I could do about it... likewise if they pulled out a healbot or other similar mechanic that simply delayed the game a bit longer, I would run out of steam pretty readily

The new joust/reveal mechanic cards do precisely this.

^^ Neat... though that card sounds a bit too far on the random side, but the idea is cool

Here's my idea for a stupid but fun card/mechanic. I don't know what the stats would be but I think the funniest scenario would be something like this:

It's a 0/10 legendary, costs 7 or 8 mana I guess... But its card text reads: "At the end of your turn, if your opponent has more minions on the board than you, swap ALL minions and gain 1 attack"

i.e. each players minons are taken control of by the other player. This includes the card above as well, so assuming nothing has changed on the following turn everything will swap back again. It would be ridiculous a bit like Nosdormu, but I think there'd be some interesting decisions to be made...

Got my first legendary from a card pack. Golden Alextrasia from tavern brawl. :)

I've only got the very basic cards so wasn't hopefuly of making any particular decks that would win me a few games until I saw a patron warrior list that was easily assembled.

Holy moly this deck just smashes everything. Even when the odds aren't in your favour it comes back. I had a priest take my patron and develop a full board of em with 2 taunts and no cards to deal with it. Then 1 turn later I make a two 30+ dmg frothings and somehow smacked him in the face after the timer went off. Couldn't believe it. I'm really not very good, and this deck is carrying me for sure. Just wonder when it'll get nerfed.

Liking this game so far

I don't think patron will get nerfed. I think they will need warsong though. They'll make it so that as soon as your minion is above 3 it will lose charge.

Thaurassin I think needs nerfing to the start of your turn.

Urg went from 1 star away from rank 12 to back down to the middle of rank 16. Guess I jinxed myself with patron warrior.

faced a legion of face hunters today....

Playing combo Druid atm. Prefer Shaman but my midrange Sham deck is struggling.

Combo Druid can just explode wins from nowhere. I had a game today where I went into turn 9 with only Dr Boom and his bots on board, opponent had a couple of things too...but 29 damage to face in one turn meant the game was over. Sick deck.

I enjoy playing tempo Mage as well, but I don't have antonidas so My version is not as effective as some of the popular ones.

so then chaps, what deck you using this season? hows it working for you?

This is my paladin deck. I am at 14 at the moment (not playing ranked as am getting tired of playing some decks). Best I have got with it so far is rank 9.

Argent squire X2
Equality
Shielded minibot X2
Ironbeak owl
Argent protector
Sword of Justice X2
Coghammer
Blood knight
Acolyte of Pain
Aldor peacekeeper X2
Defender of Argus X2
Piloted shredder
Kezan Mystic
Consecration X2
Loatheb
Harrison Jones
Sludge belcher
Sunwalker
Sylvanas
Black Knight
Dr Boom
Lay on Hands
Tirion Fordring
Ragnaros

I am only low on the ladder, but I am playing a loose mech mage deck atm... The amount of damage you can do with Micro Machine is ridiculous! I have pretty much won half of the games I have played by turn 7/8.

Made it to rank 11 - highest I've ever gone - so far :p Pretty pleased...

Playing Midrange Hunter, but swapping out a few key cards as I go along depending on what I seem to be going up against most; this mostly means taking either 2x freezing, 2x explosive or 1 of each... Freezing traps can be a nightmare when the opponent exploits it to have a card with a good battlecry bounced back to their hand

Not sure how much further I'll be able to get but we'll see - single digits would be amazing!

Gratz :) Midrange Hunter is a solid deck. I was playing it up until yesterday but hit a bit of a wall around Rank 7 mostly due to me not being experienced enough with Hunter. I dropped the Glaive and Boom in favour of a 2x Belcher to compliment the 2x Houndmaster.

Swapped to Mage and winstreaked 8-0 into Rank 5 and the 15k Gold mark.

Interesting... will keep it in mind... I don't have Boom so I usually run something else (again usually depending on the meta):
- maybe just an extra trap, misdirection is sometimes a good call
- stormwind champion occassionally combos nicely with things
- or just a war-golem as a poor-mans Dr.Boom :p

Swapped to Mage and winstreaked 8-0 into Rank 5 and the 15k Gold mark.

Awesome :) I've only got ~600 gold at the moment and still have 3 wings of BM to get through :( the rewards for wing 3 seem pretty poor as well but sadly I'll have to do it to get the later ones

not played much this weekend apart from doing quests in causal so still sitting around the 15 rank. i still hate patron warrior.

This morning I played a patron warrior who was obviously slowly building up for the combo, he played Thaurissan for the discount, got out his death's spite and swung it once on turn 6 or 7... my board consisted of 2 hyenas from a previous Highmane and 2 Spectral Spiders from the Haunted Creeper he had just hit...

Warsong came out, followed by the first Patron - he chose not to swing the axe and instead trigger the patron by trading against one of the Spiders - that's when my freezing trap went off :D insta-rage-quit
