The Official Hearthstone : Heroes of Warcraft Thread

I've had some success with nzoth priest (hit my highest ever rank with it!!).

Never managed to get dragon priest to win, though I love the cards and really want to make it work. I always get swamped, how do you play it and what deck are you using?

I'm using my own pretty much, I'm sure it's similar to most net deck varietys though. Will get a list up later when on computer.

Playing it really just depends on who you are against.

I'm struggling to get rank 9 at the moment. I've been 10 and 5 stars 11 times this season

12 times now. dropped down to 11 & 1 but have made my way back up to 10 & 5 and am on a win streak (using dragon priest)

here is my decklist
could be improved no doubt but i dont like to use net decks as much as i can. a non net decked list has some element of suprise.

EDIT: beat my personal boss this month, now rank 9 & 2

beat a shaman of all things too, i literally had perfect draws against him though.

I remember reading a thing about how computers cant truly be random and it makes me think about this game at times.

2 Knife Throwers and 5 1/1 tentacles summoned = 10 shots. 9 of them hit face, 1 of them hits the 9/4 Minion.

Utter nonsense.

up to 35 ranked wins with warrior now (first season ive actually played warrior for more than a one off)

playing a cthun control warrior and seem to be doing ok with it. rank 12 currently which is good for me this early into the season (not likely to hit legend but if i can beat my last month then im improving somewhat)

I started playing this a couple of days ago

Its the first card game I've ever played, so the learning curve was a little steep at first. I literally had no idea what was going on for quite a while lol.

I'm just playing the AI ATM, trying to level up all the decks so I get the starter cards. I'm just using the basic decks, though I guess I should be trying to mix them up a little now I've got a rough idea of what's what :)

Is there anything I should be working towards or doing in particular?

I would play arena.

You are guaranteed a pack and it's fun.

Do the brawls and make sure to do the dailies.

Some save for expansion that come.
I just buy them so use my gold for arena or packs.

Bummer than new players no longer get the 13 packs from WoTOG :(

had my first ever 0 - 3 arena run on the weekend.

was a sad day.

im sure a popular streamer is running a druid deck at the moment, faced 5 in last 5 matches. they are no match to my cthun warrior though.

ps. any new folks that wanna add me.

As an addition to this: this week you can complete dailies while playing your friends in challenge duels. What you can do as a beginner is friend some people you already know - e.g. people in this thread, but do ask first - and ask them if they'll spend a few minutes to help you fill a daily. They can't just concede instantly to give you a win, I think you have to play three turns to get credit, but it will be massively faster than trying to win duels with half-completed basic decks and it will keep your queue clear so you'll get more quests.

As a complete noob with nothing, should I spend my gold or save it? If spend, on what?

Don't spend it on arena. You need 3 wins to break even and a beginner is unlikely to achieve a 50% winrate there. Just play casual/ranked, learn the game and then consider arena.
