***The Official HP TouchPad Thread***

When UPS picked it up they sent it to Ashford. The repair centre is now in France (used to be Hungary) and as a result of the move from Hungary to France there is an additional delay in repairing Touchpads (used to take 10-12 calender days). My Touchpad was picked up on the 25th June and is where it's supposed to be (in the repair centre) but no details on the progress of the repair and I've to call back in a week for an update.

Mine was also otherwise mint and the screen protector was perfectly fitted so I'm hoping I get mine back.

Keep mine in a gel case, dont think im going to send it back, only crack i have is by speaker, case hides it

My HP Touchpad got collected again last week, about 2 weeks after they had arranged for it to be picked up due to some UPS issues....

Fingers crossed they send me a working one! Going to sell it ASAP though.....

I called HP again today and was told it's in the repair centre and should be fixed and sent to me soon.

I also asked if I will get mine back and was told I should as with the cracks in the case they just replace the casing and return it but I should check the serial number when I receive it.

I was also told to call back on Friday for an update.

mine is falling apart. I did have one crack by one of the speakers but ive now got cracks on both and the one corner of the case is cracked, exposing the internals. I'd better get it shipped back tbh :/

Ive noticed a crack too :( - want to get it sorted while still in warranty - sorry for being a noob and lazy - but how do i go about getting it sorted? does anybody know the process / have a number to call?

Is it worth banging android on these? The apps available for WebOS is pitiful, and even though I really like the OS and how fluid it is, I'd realy prefer something with more apps.

Yeah, definitely worth putting Android on it, some people do have wifi issues (personally I don't, and I think they've been improved if not fixed in the more recent nightlies) and the battery life is kinda poor, but it's infinitely better than WebOS frankly...

UPS delivered my repaired Touchpad today. HP replaced the casing and upgraded WebOS with a complete wipe. The new casing isn't good, the serial plastic tab doesn't sit flush and the middle of the back case is flexible so when pressed it makes a sticking/unsticking noise. I think it's supposed to be glued but it isn't sticky enough to stay cemented together.

Search for WebOS support, it's an 020 number and you press option 3 after the recorded voice drones on for ages.

I can't install Splashtop because it isn't in the HP App Catalog. :(

Anyone know if there is a way to view a list of the applications I purchased from the HP App Catalog?

I bought a metal pry tool and managed to open my Touchpad with it. It was easy to fix the alignment of the serial plastic tab so now it fits flush to the casing.

I also installed CM9 so I could use Splashtop.

I'm definitely ringing up week after next! One of my cracks is now starting to go along the back of the case, starting from the bottom speaker!

Have been meaning to put Android on mine for a while, as it's seeing very little use and there are a few Android apps I could see being handy. Is this a simple thing to do now, and what is the best option for watching Sky, Lovefilm, Netflix, if that's at all possible?

Mine got picked up again but not heard anything since, have to chase it up, pretty worrying like its been stolen or something!

Yep, it's pretty easy. I followed this guide a while back. Pretty fool proof.
