***The Official HP TouchPad Thread***

i think im keeping it. Ipad has way superior apps but this Touchpad has sooo much potential/ 1.2GHZ snapdrogn with 1GB ram would be amazing if someone can port android over to it.

If i had an ipad2 i probably wouldnt bother though
The touchpad uses an older arm A8 core rather than the newer A9 cores used by tablets that run the tegra 2 or apple a5, thus that extra 200mhz is needed to counter the touchpad being clock for clock slower than the a9 cores. In order vs out of order cores may also have something to do with the occasional lag the TP apparently gets.

Still for <£115 it's an epic bargain considering the advent vega is around £200 and utter tripe in comparison.

Does this have enough ****'s to be a official? I'm not sure what the convention is :p

I'm not sure I'm that bothered about getting Android on it to be honest, I'm not overly fussed about apps. Really buying it for a nice web browsing experience on the sofa with the odd movie and music.

I'm sure plenty of people on here would be happy to take it off your hands at cost price if you didn't want it. See how it goes for a week.

Guess because it's not running Android, for some reason all the Android tablets seem to stay in mobiles while everything else is shoved out :p

[EDIT]To be fair though it isn't a phone

What about things like the transformer and tab 10.1 wifi? Why are they still in the mobiles section?

That's why I said it's something we need to keep an eye out in the future.

But I can get them removed if needs be :)

Also, we're not going to get pedantic about the whole thing, I understand a tablet could have something a phone does :p
