***The Official HP TouchPad Thread***

I'm going to do all the tweaks and good stuff this evening. :D

Even though in fairness, I don't really find it lacking when it comes to performance, certain things are a bit steady but overall it's quite fine.

Cheers it does work! Also I noticed the snapiness in going into the Launcher now. I might install the other preware bits that you did as well.

May as well, only going to improve overall performance. No harm done. :)

The biggest change for me was the update from HP, however if you haven't done the other tweaks your TouchPad hasn't lived :p

Feel free to try whatever you like. The patches are easily to remove right inside preware. Have no fear, you won't break anything. Even if you somehow managed to be the rare exception, salvation is one run of webOS doctor away.

Right, I've installed webos doctor updated, installed preware, patched all recomended and upped it to 1.5gigiddy with Govnah, all running sweet and tidy, just transferring a movie and see if I can get that to run, that'll do for tonight :)

I saw that but wanted more precise instructions!! Realised it was as simple as going to Tools>Device Management in the preware application!

Just in case nobody didn't beleive me with my order for 10 touchpads, here's my confirmation

What did you use to do this? Also the player discussed earlier Karim or something does avi fine. Its not pretty but it works when I tested it.

I'm using PS3 Server on my computer and BHome - UPnP Media Player (free) on the tablet. It seems to work fine so far. Also got UpNP AV Player Free on it, but it seems to be a bit slower.

No, all allocated bar 3 I think and I have already emailed the 3 lucky people on ocuk tonight who can have them at cost.

However, I have been checking my orders with BT business and it would appear that I may have another valid order for 6 more but is awaiting security checks. I will contact them tomorrow and if I get those, all 6 will be going to ocuk forum members at cost.

I have a dream, a dream that one day i will be able to browse these forums without using a physical keyboard. I have a dream that one day i will be able to close applications with the swipe of a finger. I have a dream that one day i will own an HP Touchpad.

just thought i'd point out how i've managed to sort out the eject issue i've had and maybe this will work for others. when i've been unplugging the device i had been clicking the "click here to safely remove hardware" button on windows which said it had removed it but the device was still in usb mode. the only way to get the touchpad to go out of usb mode was to go to my computer on windows and right click the pad and then select eject. this made it work. possibly not what others have but solved my issue any way

also: if i wasn't buying this for work, i honeslty am stuggling to see why any one would want a tab, especially this one as i feel like it does really bugger all. i'm trying to play with it but can't see anything to do with it, and then as i'll be over to android when possible i'll set it up then for final bits. what are people doing with theirs? in the house i see no use for this device

Yeah, I'm sort of having the same thoughts.
It's a bit "meh".

I'm thinking of rigging onto back of car seats as a portable video player for kids.

is there any case apart from the official one thats any good?

also is the 79p preware the correct app being mentioned here?
