***The Official HP TouchPad Thread***

this thing is missing buttons and it annoying me. I'm too used to my sgs2 for the back and menu button. I'm often left wondering how to do anything. This one big reason I'll be straight to android as soon as its out as it my understanding honeycomb has a standard position for them

It will be gingerbread that gets ported because google haven't released the Sourcecode for honeycomb.

I don't think Google plan to release the source for Honeycomb?

Lets hope the Android solution is dual boot - I think that is what they are aiming for. Best of both worlds.

I believe they are going to release it when Ice Cream Sandwich launches.

I think many will only consider android if it is ICS or honeycomb, but that won't happen for months, I don't want 2.3 on here when webOS is better.

Cool RSS app called Mosaic, try it

sorry to ask a stupid question, but what is the best way of setting up your email accounts?

I have a gmail account, a yahoo account and a hotmail account. I think on my iphone gmail, and hotmail are set up as exchange accounts and yahoo is something else (pop3?). Do I need to set them up the same as on my phone?

Android is not worth bothering with until Honeycomb is working properly, WebOS is fine!

Late night troll from the Honeycomb or is that iPad user. ;)

There is nothing wrong with Honeycomb and it's working very well. It is what a table OS should be. WebOS on the other hand is slow, unfriendly and clearly quite a few software releases behind from almost being a polished tablet OS. Which at the end of the day is why the brick is only worth buying at the knockdown price.

As someone who actually uses tablets with Gingerbread on a regular basis I certainly wouldn't mind it on my Touchpad.

People have read far too much into the "GINGERBREAD IS NOT A TABLET OS" thing that a couple of tech sites have seeded into their brains. You would struggle to tell that a Flyer was running Gingerbread, the tablet version of Sense is really nice. I prefer my Gingerbread tablets to my Honeycomb one, HC really doesn't feel like a finished product to me.

I will rise to simulators troll bait, webOS is far more intuitive than honeycomb. While also being far slicker, not a single honeycomb device has been released yet that doesn't stutter and lag on its home screen.

Now look at who is putting out troll bait with it being slicker. ;)

Android 3.1 on Galaxy Tab 10.1 doesn’t stutter or lag on its home screen. You must be using a different tablet.

Now where were we? Ah yes, trying to make the webOS better with Preware. :p:D

Everything else may have an essence of truth to it but that is a blatant lie :p even my mum can get a long with my TouchPad, she's quite a good barometer for how friendly technology is.

Your mum must be a star with her finger gesture. :D
