Aside from the crazy horizontal bouncing, the other thing that bugs me when browsing is that refreshing takes you back to the top of the page instead of where you were. It's a pain when trying to follow forum threads.
 
Ah looks like I'm not the only one who's getting annoyed with the web browser's little 'quirks' lol.

Maybe it's just the sites I want to use it on but it really doesn't like sites that use javascript to 'move' images etc. All it does it drag the 'screen' and then it bounces back which is damned annoying!

Just a couple of examples of sites it's not working on - www.desertops.co.uk and http://wall.plasm.it/examples/

The first doesn't allow me to select any 'building' so I can build more or the units it houses and the second allows you to drag the 'page' around.

Anyone come across an alternative web browser lol

Go to the BBC website and try and few a formula 1 article with a flash video in it with flash turned on in your browser settings.

it just keeps refreshing.
 
how long should ripbot take?

I have a 4.35ghz 2500k sandybridge, 12gb of ram and a 6870 Black edition.

It is only transcoding from 1080 to 720 @ 30fps, thats not far off real time!!

Any ideas?
 
Any additional filters except a size change being applied?
1 pass, 2 pass?
What quality settings?

No HT on an i5 but 30FPS is reasonable depending on what settings you use. I can do a resize (1080 to 720) and 180Deg rotate 1 pass re-encode on my i7 at faster than real time, but not that much faster,

Sounds about right to me, I am converting a 1080p .MKV to a 720p .MP4 at the moment and I'm averaging around 17fps (Q6600 @ 3.3, 4gb, 5870).
 
actually I take it back, that page doesn't work for me

it just keeps reloading. Have you updated to 3.0.2? I don't think it did before I updated.
 
hmm it works and then doesnt work :s strange. If i click the link to go to the article's proper page before the reload kicks in it works 100% of the time

yeh it is temperamental. Loads of BBC pages with videos do seem to load fine :confused:
 
On the video conversion subject I converted a 720p mkv using handbrake with the ipad template to create an m4v. Quality is superb couldn't be happier. Well I could, once someone homebrews up a player that uses the gpu to accelerate mkv and I can use dlna then I think this tablet will be the bargain of the century. It's already close.
 
anyone had any problems with the Bluetooth?

got the keyboard but it won't pair, I can see the keyboard from my phone but not the touchpad, any clues?

Try switching the keyboard off then on again before the BT search. Pairing mode on the keyboard only lasts a minute before you must reset it.

Mine connected after I had turned off the keyboard, restored the phone. Switched on the keyboard then did BT and search.
 
Thanks but I'm stupid, had to change the search for from audio to keyboard derrrr, silly really but all working now.



Typed from my touchpad keyboard on my touchpad that's sitting in is touchstone
