*** The Official HTC Desire (Bravo) Thread! ***

Like above.... I went into a couple T-Mobile shops and they had no clue :s

Apparently though, they get updates every Friday......

Not sure if its been mentioned, but i phoned T-mobile today to see when my upgrade date is on my contract and it was the 21st of April. But i asked if they had the Desire available or if not when it was coming out and she said that on her system its down for the 26th of March release.

Called Orange, who as per usual, had no idea about this phone or release details even though it's been officially annouced on Orange. (meh).

Currently shopping round for the best contract as i'm on a rolling one at the moment.

Half thinking about buying it sim free, on a sim only contract. The re-sell value will be a hell of a lot more unlocked rather than locked to a service provider!

Okay so I have been trying to find out more information on contracts with all the major UK phone companies the last few days, which included visiting all the major phone stores in Bristol city centre just for the lulz to see what they would say and also phoning a couple of them...

Turns out that none of them know an actual retail release date and all I keep hearing is: "Check back in a few days" - T Mobile, "It's due at the end of April" - o2.

Guess I'll be waiting a little while longer or I might ask around again for added lolz.

Nice little tidy phone that, impressive.

Can't wait for the Desire :D

can i confirm you are saying HTC Hero and HTC Desire are basically the same?

That's what I was thinking, but then I read the legend review and it just looks like an updated Hero. Maybe he's meaning that in a convoluted way?

Is this a good place to purchase phones from?

Gah, just noticed the double post.... sorry!

:p

I've been lurking for ages, but I thought I should join and give my thoughts :)

I (pre)ordered my last phone with Mobile Phones Direct, and they were really good. The phone arrived the day after it was released (N97), and they offer better tariffs than anyone else.

Also, I found customer services to be pretty good too, I always get responses to emails within a few hours to a day, and the guys working for them are always helpful.

I plan to pre order the Desire on Vodafone from them within the next few days.

Hope this helps.

Helpful first post, thank you! (Welcome BTW)

Anyway, been researching and reading around on the 3G connectivity of T-Mobile around Bristol and the SW areas and the general consensus is that it's rubbish, but someone on here might say otherwise after I've posted this...

Now I'm thinking of buying this unlocked sim free and sticking my o2 simplicity card in, though I want T-Mobile since they have double the data allowance on their free usage policy if I remember correctly.

Will just wait a little while longer before I make any decisions I think...
