*** The Official HTC Desire (Bravo) Thread! ***

I guess a lot of us have ordered this phone from mobilephones direct i wonder how many they will be getting in w/c 5th April.

Girl in the o2 shop in Woking today said they'd be getting it in "late April".... really really hope this isnt going to be another e71 farce where they started supplying them about 5 months late!

I heard the T-Mobile pre-order page is going live today for the Desire around lunch time. Interesting to compare prices with mobilephonesdirect. I'm a mouse click away from pre-ordering! I want to keep my O2 number, does mobilephonesdirect allow you to port your number across?

Edit: Just checked the mobilephonesdirect website, they do allow you to port, sweet! Hmmmm decisions....

Mobile Phones Direct have way better prices..

That's what I was just about to say.

I did notice on the T-Mobile site you get to select an inclusive Flexible booster (unlimited txt/calls etc) on top of unlimited internet. Do you get this option on Mobile Phones Direct?

Are MPD any good? The £25 + £5 unlimited web and free phone looks good. they do want £3.99 for delivery though.

One thing I note with Tmobile and MPD is they don't list the phone as out of stock.....is this normal with these sites when phones aren't out yet?

MPD are fine, bought my HD2 from them - fast delivery and no problems. Just be aware they send you an unbranded phone with a sim for whichever carrier you choose so if you have any trouble with the phone further down the line you need to sort it out yourself, support is supposedly better if you buy direct from t-mobile.

Think thats 24months which is why i didn't go for it.

EDIT - Yea 24months.

I went for the 300mins / 300 texts / unlimited Net for £25 on 18month contract , phone costs bout £5

Can add unlimited texts for another fiver.

It is, but there is another one on 18 months with 300 minutes unlimited text/web for £30.

Does anyone have an answer about T-Mobile branding on other HTC handsets? I really want to know if T-Mobile have molested previous ones before I take the plunge.

The MPD site does say, at the time of me posting this, "SORRY - THE HTC DESIRE IS CURRENTLY ONLY AVAILABLE TO PRE-ORDER". It says this right under "Order before 3pm for next day delivery"

Not on the main page or the page listing all HTC phones but only on the Desire's own page.

That looks like the same deal I'd go for.

Same contract through tmobile has the phone at about £95.

Anyone know if/when o2 will have pricing for the Desire?

Same one I'll be going for as I'm not a heavy user. I've been with O2 for years but not sure I can wait for them to get the Desire, whenever that may be.

Doubt I will be rewarded with a similar contract as MPD for being a long term customer either!

Exactly the same as me.

Wouldn't mind seeing the o2 numbers, just out of interest. But I can't see them coming close to matching that deal, even as a long term customer.

Will have to check when my current deal expires, but certainly won't be holding off from ordering if I can help it.

I decided to go straight to Tmobile. The addition of unlimited text sealed it for me.

Phone cost - £130
18 month contract - £20 (300 minutes, free texts, free internet)
Total cost = £490

Considering the phone costs £430(ish) the monthly fee works out to be about £3.33!!
