Remember to upgrade EXT2 to EXT3 in recovery too after partitioning.

Well, I heard what was R2D2 (I think) now on the black screen with green android.

Yes that screen takes a while initially but reboot a few times and the cache will be all nicely done throughout general usage and bootup should be swift.
 
What is the consensus on 2.2 is the desire as smooth as the iphone now or is it still lagging behind! The browser felt vey jerky when zooming in and out. Has this been resolved?

I have until the 17th to return the iphone. It is growing on me but I miss sense and the android mini desktop experience. The games on the iPhone are brill though.
 
Pinch zoom on 2.2 is very smooth for me. There have been some tweaks to 2.2 which means it runs quicker, feels a lot snappy and smooth.
 
Using Launcher Pro and a custom FroYo ROM the Desire is as fast and in many cases faster (siwtching between apps and menus and homescreens etc).

Browser smoothness in zoom depends entirely on webpage content, if there's a lot of animations or flash then it's not entirely smooth but then again turn flash off and it is. iPhone doesn't do flash so is smooth in thatregards.
 
hi all, does anyone have a problem with their Desire (I'm on 2.1) where it won't send a text, then keeps notifying to say it can't send the text? I get it about once a day (I'm on T-Mobile if it makes a difference)
 
I used to get that on 2.1 (Im on Orange, was probably the same 1-2 days one would fail a few times)

Been on 2.2 for a while now and never seen it again :)

hmm thats weird, I just checked for system updates and it says there isn't any! 2.1 update 1 it says in my About Phone screen :confused:

I had that on 2.1 a lot, especially when I was sending a text to multipul recipiants, I'd resend them seperatly only to be told why are you sending me this again :( Seems to have been cured on 2.2 - he says keeping his fingers crossed.

The only realy problem I've had on 2.2 is it stopping part way through a video clip saying it can't be played, go back in to the same clip and it plays all the way through :confused: let's hope for a fix soon.

Is your phone branded? As you might have to wait a month or so to get the update.

Or if you would rather not wait, you can always root it and put the stock 2.2 on or a custom 2.2 rom :)
