*** The Official HTC Desire (Bravo) Thread! ***

Is your phone branded? As you might have to wait a month or so to get the update.

Or if you would rather not wait, you can always root it and put the stock 2.2 on or a custom 2.2 rom :)

it doesn't say T Mobile on the case anywhere or on the software, so I don't think so??

Did you buy it direct? Or from phones4u, car phone warehouse etc.

If direct chances are it's unlocked but is branded, so you will either have to root or wait a little :(

Yes phone networks suck

Ok, I'm not going to ask again. Don't make me angry.

There MUST be a way to utilise the HTC widgets in LaucherPro. I want the Calendar. It has the nice page view agenda and mini agenda. I want it.

Do you have the plus version? The calendar/agenda widget with that is excellent, better than HTC.

The guys over at XDA Devs have found a way to downgrade the HBOOT from the 2.2 OTA update back down to 0.80.

Root is back for all those that accepted the OTA

bought it from Mobile Phones Direct I think they were called online, I'm quite open to installing a custom ROM, but I'd need to be sold the benefits of doing so, is there a best place to look for this? I notice the ROM you use is created by a Stoke City fan! I might start looking at his!?

How would I go about transferring contacts from a Blackberry to a Desire?
Don't know anything about Blackberries, but this worked for my old nokia.

Connect nokia to PC with USB cable
Export contacts as .vcf files
Connect Desire to PC with USB cable
Transfer .vcf files to SD card
Disconnect Desire
Launch the People app > menu button > Import/Export > Import from SD card

Thought that might be of some help.... depends if you can export your Blackberry contacts as .vcf

it should do, not tried it myself though.

I went back to the plain black & white bar, with just a white circle battery

the mod for v3.0.2 works on v3.0.3

It does but i had 2 mods to try, tryed the first one with the blackbar and the white battery percentage which looked better then the other one i was getting to try.

Well with a custom ROM they have little tweaks/mods.

These include things like better battery life, faster speeds, tweaks to the UI, better apps2sd, quicker updates, etc

Guys, posting using leedroid now. Can't seem to get tendering to work wirelessly. My laptop will connect but that's about it. Also the notification icon for tendering doesn't disappear.

Lastly, I went to install both apks from my SD card for the HTC IME keyboard but they both fail to install just saying not installed.

If you pay for LauncherPro Plus he is adding in replacements for the HTC widgets. Only People, Bookmarks and Calendar at the moment, but they are almost identical to the HTC ones. I particularly like his calendar widget.

:D Tendering :D

Tethering icon goes away after about a minute, it should work though or you can still use Wireless tether for Root Users (I prefer this anyway). I'll sort that out for you tonight.

HTC_IME_MOD won't install because it's already a part of Leedroid. Longpress text box and input method and select it.

Install the modded tethering app I post later with a tender hand though :D

EXT upgrade is done from recovery but you need to be using AmonRA's recovery. I've permanently flash R5 of it.

Ahh, makes sense now as I am not usin AmonRA's.... The issue I see with going to EXT4 (which is needed for R5 ??) is that some ppl report problems with apps when they use ROM's as they dont all support EXT4 :(

As for battery - please do as I may be switching from NextSense to LeeDroid... 1.8 is getting done tonight so will wait till then tho :)

Damn the addictiveness of Android Flashing :(

I've not had any problems but if a ROM supports EXT4 then it should also support EXT2 and 3.

I've switched back to 3 for LeeDroid. You can backup and restore via Nandroid after repartitioning your SD and the EXT restores just fine too. Just make sure to backup the SD contents locally first.

Teehee HTC predictive text fail. I installed the v27 version linked on the other page. I guess that's the wrong one.
yeah its wireless tethering that doesn't work. Do I need that file I had like last time. Tbh opendesire seemed more polished but battery life was dire.
