*** The Official HTC Desire (Bravo) Thread! ***

After debranding and froyoing, i find my homepage, google, no longer gives me a location setting (says update, but it doesnt), and also, using web browser, the times on the forum posts seem to be not BST. What have i done wrong ?

The back of my Desires box actually states it is AMOLED, so yours will be SLCD, unlucky :(

Is the SLCD much worse though or are you guessing like you did with the iPhone 4 screen? :p

I'll be honest the screen doesn't impress me hugely on my Desire - it's rubbish outside and seems to eat the battery like nothing I've seen before. Colours do look great on it though (indoors).

It doesn't eat battery at all. Some of your apps and stuff might do but the display certainly doesn't.

Also it's quite good outside, yesterday I was having a family BBQ in QECP and had no problem recording videos and taking photos as well as checking emails and things in the direct sunlight.

The iPhone 4 screen is an IPS LCD panel whereas the SLCD used on the new HTC phones is not so the screen quality will still be higher on the iPhone but the punch and vibrancy of the AMOLED is still better (as well as the black levels obviously).

Maybe it's just the round battery meter that makes me think it's eating the battery, but all I was doing was browsing on my way to QPR this weekend and the battery needed a charge by the time I got home in the evening, this never happened to my iPhone on the same regular journey.

To be honest I think the iPhone 4's screen is in a different league to that of the Desire, sorry! I have them side by side every day so I'm well accustomed to using and comparing both. I would never go back to the iPhone as my main handset again though.

Anyone know if you can a better voice for the navigation? Just tried it out for a laugh and the voice is kinda annoying.

Well after ROOTing and Flashing LeeDrOid my signal seems to be dropping quite frequently, any ideas? I made a backup of the APN's so I will restore that - see if there is any luck!

Did you have any luck with this? I've got the same thing again now.

Barely get any reception and keeps dropping, can't for the life of me get a mobile internet signal.

All happens after i change the radio.

What you lot using?

Anyone know a way to add more than one attachement at a time (i.e I want to email 5 photos without manually adding each photo one at a time)
Thanks for any pointers!

Finally got my Desire today.
It is one of the SLCD models also, I realized that while scouting through some menus with black background and then noticed light leaking on the right upper side.

I got these accessories for my desire over a month ago, ya can find links to the stuff from here:
clicky clicky

The cradle is perfect, the phone looks awesome while it sits in it on my desk :P
CMBT also fits like second skin on the phone
and that case, damn it is perfect, Desire fits in that nice, Desire+CM fits also yay. Though Desire+CM=no go for cradle.

This is the best phone I've ever owned.

Well, there doesn't seem to be a big difference really to be fair - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gY6qpnoziZM

I'd have to actually try one to compare properly. I do like the LED screen though, but I think the Retina display edges it on most things.

I was very impressed with that on the iPhone.

The only way this will realistically effect your day to day life is if you're one of those people who obsess over 'problems' found by people on the Internet. If you make it a problem, it will be one. If you were never told, you probably never would have noticed.

My friend got her Desire with SLCD today.

it's slightly less vivid with colours compared to the AMOLED, but it's hardly noticeble really.

Altough from what I've heard SLCD is very similar to IPS anyway.
