im currently on opendesire 3.05 and for some reason i cant use the optical sensor to scroll in the menus or homepage. is there a setting i need to turn on for this or is it one of the negatives of using opendesire

Faar better battery life, mine has been off charge since 6.50 and I'm currently sitting at 71% with fairly moderate use, should last me through the day.
Also he bundles some nice apps in there, sure you could download them through the market, but that's effort!

Tried LeeDroid, didnt like it so went back to NextSense.

Battery: Charged it overnight, been using it since about 9am (including GPS for circa 30 mins) and its at 85% so fine with that.

Apps: Thats what annoyed me about LeeDroid. Sure, he packs some apps like Titanium Backup on there but they then updating them from the market is a pain as he sticks them in system/apps instead of data/apps and the former has a read-only permission as standard which can hinder updates....

I dont know why devs bundle software from the market in ROM's. It takes 2 mins to download TB and then use it to restore your phone with all the apps you had anyways.....

That sounds about average to me. I finished yesterday with 70% left and with moderate usage, including nandroid backup and flashing mods/themes. It loses between 5-8% overnight. I keep wifi/Mobile internet on at all times, sync facebook and emails every hour, twitter every 15 mins and download Guardian pages overnight. I'd expect at least 48 hours out of mine if I didn't charge it each night. This is using Pinky's 0.3. I see no reason to upgrade from this as it does everything I need it to. Used Pays 2.1 sense rom before and battery life was awful.
 
I've been playing Gameboy Roms, does that absolutely murder battery life? I ask because it was 100% at 11:30 this morning, and it dropped to 30% at 6PM.

I had been playing it a lot though.
 
Wow odd problem here!!!

I noticed my contacts app size was around 35mb! so upon further investigation

Went into
People, then view contacts and i have one option called com.facebook.auth.login (20578)

What the hell is this?!
it has loads of duplicates of every single person!

how did that happen?!

Can anyone ID this case? The images are hotlinked from mobilefun but I can't see the case on their website.

/edit - I see it's a tuff-luv case but they now have it in a non suede finish with a dragon image on.

21h 42m unplugged and the battery on mine is on 58%, using Leedroid. To be fair though, I only turn the wireless on when I need it instead of leaving it on constantly.
 
It's perfectly fine. Class rating isn't a bearing of speed either - some class 2 cards like Sandisk Mobile Ultra can exceed cheap class 6 cards.

I have both LG Class 6 and Sandisk Class 2 and the Sandisk is just as fast on the phone.

Still using this case and it works well... adds a fair bit of bulk to the phone but protects it well and looks cool as the case wears
 
Can anyone tell me if you lose paid for apps if you root and change rom???

I have an Desire on Orange and don't really want to **** it up seeing as I'm one month into a 24 month contract and have bought LogMeIn for £24 notes!

Any news on an official 2.2 for Desire on Orange???

Got SLCD?

The Desire I ordered off mobiles.co.uk on Sat has just arrived. Looking at the back there is no mention of AMOLED so I'm guessing it's one of the LCD ones?

Vodafone retentions sent me a txt earlier saying they'd call to provide my PAC so I'm going to wait and see if they beg me to stay (yeah right!) before opening this phone.
