*** The Official HTC Desire (Bravo) Thread! ***

What cases/pouches are you guys using?

I purchased a genuine HTC velvet sock/pouch and it was pretty good for cleaning the screen for about a week or so, now it's very bitty and doesn't clean properly.

I bought some screen protectors but couldn't get the air bubbles out so gave up.

Now looking for something better, any ideas?

Krusell leather pouch, I think someone else has one here too, good quality and v. sturdy.

Not getting on with WhiteXperience. Hardly any apps seem to download from the market (such as Digital Clock Widget). Now I'm in a dilemma. Back to NextSense, or give DeFrost another whirl

Must admit, the DSP app in WhiteXperience was nice

Robbie, I know it says its for dummies but I can't get version d installed (which one did you go for on the DeFrost Rom?)

I grabbed the .zip and tried to flash it and it says Aborted, do I have to do the whole renaming thing?

You grabbed what zip from where?

Download Defrost ROM

Extract framework-res.apk

Rename it to DWframework-res.apk

Upload it to: http://upload.circle.glx.nl/

Make note of timecode given

Wait 5 mins

Download generated zip from: http://pick.circle.glx.nl/ (make sure timecodes match)

Flash that zip from recovery.

I ran battery calibration and lost 6% battery in 3hrs 50 minutes with wifi on, gmail sync, facebook, twitter etc.

Nice!

Windows, WinRAR, 7zip? :D

The zip files in the post linked are source files if someone wants to mod it into a non standard ROM or their own ROM.

Follow the Step instructions from step 1.

I'm on my 3rd ROM of the day, using DeFrost 2.9a right now, I like it a lot and I love DeFrost Setup, installed various updates via it and 1267MHz kernel too as well as the super circle battery mod (version D).

I'm on DeFrost2.9a too now. I was on OD3.2 before I bought Slingplayer and read that it wouldn't work on OD.

With regards to the Super Circle battery mod, what's the difference between a,b,c and d?

- don't worry, just looked again and all the circle aren't the same colour :)

I bought a Noreve flip case ~£30 from mobilefun and a Martin Fields screen protector. Superb combination and the case fits better than anything else I've seen. It's an expensive purchase but really looks after the phone.

Nice!

That's all well and good but defrost has a grey notification bar by default so now I can't see the numbers. How do I change the bar to the nice black

Ah yes, It should have been DB not DW.

LOLS.

Re-name, re-upload, re-download, re-flash :)

I didn't do that on purpose just to make it tedious honest :p

Khaaan! You should really do a blog or something for Desire ROMs etc. Trawling through this thread is rather tedious now its 125 pages! I'm basically fed up that T-Mobile still haven't rolled out the 2.2 and I want in on the latest and greatest ROMs, what do?

Root and flash 2.2 and flip T-Mobile the bird? :D

I don't do blogs :O But I do post random Android-ish stuff on Twitter, well at least I do when I remember!

kona786 have a look at how much they go for on ebay/gumtree etc to get an idea.

if anyone using OD 3.3.x wants a blackbar with sense icons + super circle battery type D. i made this earlier. just flash it in recovery at least 1 reboot after the rom

Big gayer. Does it make the bar black??

Bar stays white but you can choose a black bar via DeFrost settings. I like the white bar though as it reminds me of my HTC Magic, my first entry into Android world!
