*** The Official HTC Desire (Bravo) Thread! ***

The worst that could happen is your network provider tell you to f off after you've bricked it and you're left with a nice looking doorsop :D

:p

WhiteXperience from NextSense dev, based on Cyanogen ROM so expect excellent battery life and other nice things :p

Nandroid backups of my NextSense and OpenDesire setups all exist so ROM hopping is even easier now :D

/cowers in corner clinging to working phone.... :p

You seem to change ROM's about twice a day mate!!

I just wish a ROM existed that has working autobrightness like all Sense ROMs do and a pairing supported bluetooth driver so I can connect wiimotes and then added the HTC dialler with everything else from stock Android and Cyan Settings.

Can only dream ^_^

Why not make your own ROM?

Because it's a steep learning curve going from ROM testing and configuring to ROM development :p

I'm game for the task but I don't have the time to devote to doing it at the moment!

I'm on my 3rd ROM of the day, using DeFrost 2.9a right now, I like it a lot and I love DeFrost Setup, installed various updates via it and 1267MHz kernel too as well as the super circle battery mod (version D).

The autobrightness is also better in this ROM and my eyes feel much better too.

I think this is a keeper....arf.

The thing here is, I was sitting outside on Sunday, bright sunlight, and no matter what brightness I used I would never describe my self as being able to see it "perfectly fine". Perhaps you have different sunlight over on the mainland.

I agree I have returned mine 3 times to o2 saying it must be faulty and everytime it comes back theres nothing wrong with it thats how the screen is which I looked up loads of info over web and others say the same that screan type has issues with sunlight.

maybe this is one of the reasons why htc have changed screen type

Hey guys, got one of these bad boys a few weeks ago. One problem that I have seem to have noticed since I got it, is the time seems to lag pretty bad. I've been searching online for any commonly known problems but most places/sites are just saying to remove the (insert version)task killer but after doing so it hasn't made any difference.

I have tried using both the network update for time and the manually set time but both lag. I have purposefully done a test from 8pm to now and the phone is coming in at 10 minutes slow.

Sorry if this is something pretty basic but I literally cannot work out the solution to the problem.

I decided to keep mine and I think the camera is faulty lol. It goes all purple and squares whenever its opened.

time to send it back?

Am I missing something with Chrome To Phone and pushing Google Maps to the Desire?

Browser pages work fine, but whilst Maps opens it just gives me my current location and not the location in Chrome.

I send it to the phone and, although it doesnt immediately navigate, it gives me the details of it along with a "navigate" button which I press to start navigating.

I am using Google Chrome with C2P extension

I'm running WhiteX and I quite like it. Battery life seems good. I think comparable to NextSense, certainly not better.

One thing I did notice on NS was when I modded to remote the HTC lock screen I could no longer cancel or snooze my alarm....Hmmm...

Known problem if you use the Android lock screen on a Sense ROM. He mentioned it in 5.0 and added the "Alarm v2" app to fix it.

I just use the transparent screen and it works fine.

Ive just got mine back for repair, all they have done is whack some vodafone rom on and im now on HBOOT 0.83 :(

Can i still flash on .83?

What cases/pouches are you guys using?

I purchased a genuine HTC velvet sock/pouch and it was pretty good for cleaning the screen for about a week or so, now it's very bitty and doesn't clean properly.

I bought some screen protectors but couldn't get the air bubbles out so gave up.

Now looking for something better, any ideas?

If you're on the stock 2.1 ROM and unrooted then the stock UI is quite laggy especially once you start filling up the storage space.

Root + Apps2SD+ will solve this!

Well im happy :D

I missed my shirt pocket yesterday and the phone hit the ground pretty hard :( BUT was in that cheap wee ebay pouch with the wee android chap on it, the £3 or so one!

Not a bit of damage! Phew!

Thinking about upgrading to this from a hero, worthwhile upgrade or do you reckon I should wait for something a bit better? I do love my hero, but I guess that's down to android really.
The upgrade would only cost me about £50 I think.

Common current tactics seem to be to wait for the HTC Desire HD.

If it's good, upgrade to it.

If it's not that good, other upgrades such as the Desire should be cheaper.

Samsung Galaxy S scores more than double the Desire in Quadrant Benckmark with 2.2 on
