You can either use something like Clockwork Recovery Mod, or get Rom manager and just install the rom from within it. Make a backup, then partition your SD Card (512mb ext partition) first.

Bear in mind if you're going from a Sense Rom to a non Sense rom, you'll need to Wipe Data/Settings from within Clockwork first.

Thanks! Now running DeFrost. Seems strange not having the HTC Sense stuff on there but I'm getting used to it, finding a few new widgets of my own. Don't like the 3d scrolling app launcher too much though, any ideas if I can change it to 2d scrolling?

Thanks again:)

I tell you what actually, the auto-completion in Android is way better then Sense. Completing a word gives you the space after it, and you can hit punctuation and it will place it properly, eg without a space after the last word.

Swiftkey is better than both :)

Um yeah, can't find it at present, there is an option to turn off the 3d app menu. Are you using Launcher Plus? I am and its in Preferences>Advanced Settings>Use 3D drawer.

Launcher Pro is 2d by standard, so you must know where the setting is as you would have had to change it to 3d, but the above is correct to enable / disable

To be honest, I think DeFrost enables it by default, because I had the exact same thing, and certainly hadn't turned on the 3D draw: its awful!

Not to worry, I've installed Launcher Pro from the market and put it into 2d menu. Paid for LP for the widgets and to give support for a good Android developer.

I've no idea what I'm comparing it too, just that before I'd rooted my phone the input was pretty horrible.

Ahh right, you can change that without having to change ROMs, just hold down your finger on a text box (say in the browser window) and select 'Input Type' and change it to 'Android'. :)

Whenever I try to move my apps to the sd card it seems to corrupt the card. I get an error saying it has been mounted as read-only. No amount of mounting and unmounting will fix it and I have to format the card, losing my data and Spotify playlists.

Anybody else get this problem? I'd like to move some things over to the SD card and reclaim some space. Any ideas how to fix?

Seems to be no longer an issue now that I have taken the plunge with my first custom ROM. Plenty of free space on my phone now :D

Probably not as Google doesn't official nav there?

Just install Brut Mod of Google maps which enables worldwide nav anyway.

Edit*
"Perfect" DeFrost Nandroid saved, now testing out latest OpenDesire :p
