How long did it stay on this screen for? Getting a bit worried! :(
Mine took 2 minutes, but as above don't worry because you can reflash.

Finally got mine setup as wanted. Haven't quite found the wallpaper I want, but it'll do for now!

Hey guys, I noticed today that the H icon on my phone only appears when I do something that uses data, otherwise it stays 3G. The area I was in has HSDPA coverage so is this normal behaviour? Network is Orange if it makes a difference.

Also, is it possible to root the hboot version 0.92 yet?

OK, mine was on there for about 30 minutes before I got bored and turned it off, it would do the animation then the screen would blink and it would do it again and again.

Think I will start afresh, but I didn't back up my original ROM - does anyone have a link to a standard ROM so I can try again.

I've tried this - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=768256 - but it didn't work, there a message on the phone saying "Main version is older! Update Fail!"

:(

Thats how it works :)

No idea about 0.92 tho!

Think i read somewhere that unrevoked can now root the desire without having to downgrade the hboot thing. can anyone confirm?

Also,if i root, can i then go back to offical HTC Sense rom to get official upgrades? say when android 3.0 comes out.

yup- confirmed. it just rooted my stock (albeit unbranded) ota updated 2.2 desire with no problems. win!

i knew it'd be done eventually. :D

it went through a few more reboots than i remember, but thats mentioned on the unrevoked more info website.

Reports are coming in from XDA that the Official Orange Desire 2.2 update is live though there's nothing on my wifes yet.

Nothing on mine either.
Must be HTC's fault again, obviously not going to be Orange filling my phone with unsolicited crap that I neither want nor can I delete that is causing the delay...

Not sure, did you not take a backup :(?

Yes I rooted using unrevoked 3.21. And you can use stock Roms (there are some around), or simply take a nandroid backup of your phone before you do anything.

So bland without HTC Sense and HTC widgets :(

Only 5 home screens would wind me up as well

I tell you what actually, the auto-completion in Android is way better then Sense. Completing a word gives you the space after it, and you can hit punctuation and it will place it properly, eg without a space after the last word.

That's nothing to do with Sense is it? You are comparing the Android keyboard to the HTC 'Touch input' one. I'm using a Sense based ROM and always change over to use the stock Android input method for this very reason.

I've been prompted to install an update on my OTA 2.2 sim-free Desire, this was the update that was pulled because of a bug. Is it safe to use now?
