*** The Official HTC Desire (Bravo) Thread! ***

Walked into a Vodafone shop last night on the way home. Walked out with a Desire! :)

Only breifly used an iPhone before, this thing is so much nicer. Build quality is better than I expected. My only niggle is the volume rocker is too easy to accidentally press.

Need to get some sort of protection for it now, any ideas?

Just ordered mine through Tmobile...went for the £10 pm over 24mth contract...paid £164 for the phone...works out to be the same as paying for it offline ie sim free.

Dont think they have any in stock at the moment from what they have told me but should be getting some more in.

Looking forward to playing with it when i get it.

Just been on the phone again, there's none in at the moment - there might be some this afternoon. You're more likely to get one sooner if you order over the phone rather than online apparently...! The guy is going to try and get one for my order when they come back in, not sure why he should have to. Do they charge everyone before they know when they're getting the phones back in stock?

Even turning on normally takes ~ 10 minutes just now!

It will only boot into safe mode as well. Done nothing to it, it went crazy I.E pressing the screen would change the volume keep going to helicopter screen etc.

So I toke the battery out, as wouldn't allow me to turn it off.

Not wanting to reset everything but hey ho! Here goes.

So a physical reset is what fixed this?

Vibrate on texting and email just does not work AT ALL!

They wouldnt take my order over the phone the muppets...so just ordered online...i havent had anything come other than my order confirmation.

My Desire is arriving today from Vodafone.

Vodafone have got a lot of people's backs up on the allocation system of phones.
They put the Desire up for "Pre-Order" on the 1st of April.
So everybody jumped in and ordered online thinking they would be the first to recieve their phones.
Alas no - those people who pre-ordered were scheduled to recieve their phones on the 13th of April.
Whilst people phoning up and ordering or going into the stores were getting their phones straight away.

I pre-ordered online however I then phoned up yesterday to find out what the score was and I was immediately assigned some stock there and then - got Parcelforce tracking numbers etc.

Vodafone were immediately moving people onto the upgraded tariffs etc, however then delaying the phone for 10 days!

I too ordered my Desire from Voda yesterday morning, the guy on the phone advised me it will be with you tommorow (7th) afternoon at the latest! and gave me a tracking number.

Double checked this morning and due to 'extraordinary demand' i will recieve my phone on Thursday (8th) - i got my £5 shipping fee back though so thats a bonus.

I knew i wouldnt recieve it today anyway, receieving next day delivery in the north of scotland never works.

To the guy who said he got a £10ppm tariff - can you tell us what that gives you in regards to minute/txt and internet?

i had to pay £20ppm to get 300mins, unlimited txts and unlimited internets.

i had to pay £20ppm to get 300mins, unlimited txts and unlimited internets.

If its the T-Mobile then its as follows.....

£164 for handset (but they will sell for less if you haggle - i got mine for £89)
100 Minutes
100 texts
Unlimited Internet (3gb fair use policy for Androids)
Free 'booster' ( I chose unlimited texts)

For £10 pm I get 100 mins, 100 texts, unlimited internet (3GB FUP), and another add on being a choice of; unlimited texts, unlimited t-mobile calls, unlimited landline calls, 17 mins outgoing, 38 incoming, 68 texts in europe per month, 60 mins to call EU and Australasia, 120 mins to mobiles and landlines in the USA/Canada. And you can change which of these extra add ons you want every month.
By default it picks the unlimited text option.

I hadn't realised one of the add-ons was texts from abroad, perfect for when I go on holiday. If the phone's arrived by then.

Really??...you haggled down to £89??...was that an upgrade or as a new customer...i spoke to them this morning and asked if they would budge on the price but they werent having any of it...i might wait till i get the phone then ring them up and say i want to return the phone as its too expensive.

But £89 for the phone seems highly unlikely as they would be losing money on the phone rather than making money...at the moment buying the £10pm over 24mths with £164 price tag works out to £404 all in which is around the price of them being sold sim free ie unlocked. Whereas your paying £329 all in...not saying your lying but i find it very hard to believe that they would reduce the price by that much.
