Run Battery Usage and see what is using most of your battery.

On my Magic 80% of my battery is used by GPS alone when I'm using satnav, the rest of the apps are much lower. I can easily get away with a day's usage though. I wouldn't have though the bigger screen would have made a hit either since it's AMOLED and the Qualcomm CPU is pretty efficient isn't it.

anyone know how to link your hotmail with mail. can't seem to figure it out, done googlemail fine but i never use it.

I just put my email / pass into the mail app and it did the rest

Same with my ISP account.

Think i shall be going somewhere else. How do people get such better deals? Been with orange for 6 years now.

Thats the guide I used and it works well. For the Outgoing Server SMTP Port, 25 didnt work for me so try 587

I'm with Orange, on a £30 p/m contract, (Ends up anywhere upto £35 p/m) Due for an upgrade next month, what are my chances of getting this? I do not want any other phone

I think that is my trouble, i've been on sim only since my last contract ran out about a year and a half ago and only been paying £15/month.
Still, surely £25 from me is the same as £25 from anyone else regardless of whether they were on a £30/month before or my £15/month......

Ah well I think I will either swap to PAYG and then back to Orange through P4U or someone or just go straight with Vodaphone or T-Mobile as I'd really like to keep my number.

Just got this on upgrade from orange: £22 a month/24 month contract - 600 mins, unlimited texts and unlimited internet plus phone for free and broadband for the home for £5....i was paying £30 a month for my contract!

I was with T-Mobile but never had a signal at home so was looking at transferring over to Vodafone as I then have the option of their 'Sure Signal' femtocell (3G over broadband).
Online, their cheapest Desire tariff is £30 but was hoping for £20-25 as I don't use much mins/txts so gave them a bell last Tue.
Mentioned £30 was too much so was offered the Desire for free at £25 x 21 month for 600mins, 3000txt & unlimited internet... The guy didn't know what size of SD card it had so added a 8GB into deal so I agreed... I'll get rid of my landline for THAT many mins.
Received the phone at Wed lunchtime and got my old number switched over via PAC mid Thu.

Damn nice phone which impresses everyone.
Apart from the 'Vodafone' scene there's no branding and verified it's unlocked with an O2 sim.
It came with a 4GB SD card pre-loaded.. plus the promised 8GB.

My reception is still terrible apart from by my window (better than T-Mobile anyway) so rang them to 'return it' and was offered the 'Sure Signal' for £25 rather than the unusual £50 (on £25+ tariffs otherwise £120) which I'm happy with. It's due Mon AM.
Hope it's reliable enough after reading other forums.

NB.
As I don't have a signal when I'm sat down at home to play with it over my Wi-fi , it constantly checks for reception and complains about every 30 seconds and gets very annoying.
The only way I've found around it is to hold the power button, go to 'Airplane Mode' then enable Wireless.

Right I have updated to the latest firmware and I'm still getting issues with the memory card and failing backups. The card is the 4 gb one supplied and every backup fails I then cannot use the card til I reboot the phone. Anyone else have this?

ive still got the battery life issue, and that i cant remove certain contacts from the phone contacts section

the battery issue is going to be an annoyance
