*** The official HTC One S thread ***

I'd love to root my One S, the thing that puts me off is if something happened to it which meant I couldn't restore it before sending it off for repair, that would be the end of my warranty. Expensive gamble to take in my eyes.

Was watching this video:

And they mentioned about USB OTG being supported on sense V4+ now! :D (skip to 2.25 for the USB OTG feature)

Really can't wait for this new sense V4+ version, looks really good and apparently the white balance is much better on the camera app too  (read it on a forum elsewhere)

Annoying that you can't remove that power saving thing from the notification bar though.....

What about a development version of Android 4.1?

For our developer community, we plan to make generic development ROMs of Jelly Bean available for both the HTC One X and HTC One S. As soon as the ROMs are ready, they will be posted to our HTCdev site (www.htcdev.com). We strongly recommend customers take the time to understand the limitations of the development software along with the terms and conditions on the site before downloading to their device.

Hopefully will see some videos of this and benchmarks!

Been a while since any photos were posted

A few sunset pics (taken from behind a dirty window :o, but the result was pretty good anyway in terms of colours)

Slightly frustrated at the length of time it takes updates to arrive. Given that Android is open source, I've been somewhat disheartened by how unsupportive HTC is towards rooting - whilst I can understand the concerns on direct hardware control, their blanket approach of wriggling out of whatever they can seems a bit rich.

I've just not been using mine all that much i guess. The update thing doesn't really bother me, i've never been one to fuss over having the latest version of anything :o

I will say my phone survived getting slightly damp in the lakes at the weekend! Was in my coats inner pocket but after about 5 hours of rain it had a bit of a leak/condensation build up which had coated my phone. All was well though thank god :D Didn't take many pictures, needed the battery to last 2 days :p

Yes I am well aware of that after reading that you hadn't updated 66 apps or something like that  :p

Yours aren't working Inq :p

Should be fixed now....just trying out Google Drive!

EDIT

Stoopid Google Drive, cant link directly to pics/files, found a website to convert links to do it though....sort it out Google!!

It's currently back up to 33 :o My problem is i cba to read through them all to see what's been fixed. IIRC you said apex had got worse with the latest update? So why would i want to update it :p And repeat... I do the occasional one when it pops up and i read the fix at the time but usually i just clear notifications and forget

pffffft! :p

I need more updates! Lucky if I even get more than 3 app updates every 2 days :( :p :o

Apex is good overall, it is just the smoothness when scrolling backwards in the app drawer that annoys me (it is very minor though and most people probably wouldn't notice :p), this has been present since like V 1.2.5. The last update is very good though and the graphical glitches have gone now. I only use nova for being smoother throughout and having the stock jellybean theme for icons etc. as with apex and the jellybean theme from the market some apps aren't themed properly i.e. the gallery (problem with the theme as it is the same in nova too)

But as said before, generally if there are any problems (serious ones), they are fixed very quickly i.e. apex and nova both had problems with the latest update but the developers released an update within a matter of hours and the problems were gone.

Just had a weird problem there, the capacitive buttons wouldn't respond at all :/ well they did respond but it was hit and miss, worked like 5% of the 4 minutes I was trying them, thankfully a power of and on fixed the problem, hopefully it won't happen again........

Had that happen to me this week quite a lot and it seems to be related to the O2 mast near me at work. It was down all week ("G" only, no "H") and it seemed to send the phone funny, the home screen switching to the home screen overview and back all the time and the capacitive buttons wouldnt work as you describe.
It was fine at home and its been fine since they fixed the mast.

I haven't checked this thread for ages! Nice pics everyone

Still enjoying HOS ownership! After playing around with 4.2 on the N7 the only things I really want is Gmail 4.2, the new smoother multitasking window and dual drop down notifications ....oh and as usual, improved baseband switching :p

(I get occasional Helicoptering on Talkmobile G/E, it's very rare though)

Pfffft! You are kicked from the one S club, should be checking this thread as soon as there is a post! :p

Do you not mean the N4? :p

How you finding it overall compared to the S so far? Huge speed difference between the 2?
