phoned htc this morning and they are collecting today regarding the chipping

its under warranty until june 2014 but i am not the original purchaser so dont know if this is a problem

have packaged it up and notice it says to include original receipt :rolleyes:

hopefully everything will turn out allright as i am loving the phone
 
Make sure you leave a note in it or something saying that you don't want to have a replacement model which will most likely have the s3 cpu as the s4 CPU was the reason you bought the phone.

Hey emu, can you keep us posted in regards to timelines and such other stuff.

My HTC has a load of chips and I'm tempted to get it repaired, hopefully they just replace the case and return the phone as I've got one of the ones with a S4 chip.

On a side note almost got a N4 last night, actually got an order in but decided to cancel later that night since the ONE S is fine for my needs at the moment.

will have to open the box and write on it now lol
 
yeah will keep everyone posted and see what happens

only problem i can see at the moment is i dont have the original purchase receipt

a result for me would be it gets re housed and then i get a case for it to keep it minty

and it still has warranty till 2014

worse case scenario they refuse to do anything with it but i might go down the route of either getting a housing and doing it myself

and would replace the battery at the same time with that bigger one

Do all HTC phones come with a 2 year warranty? How did you find out when yours expires?

i telephoned htc and gave them the imei number and he wanted the baseband details and some other details

then he replied that it was covered till april 2014

What are the exact timelines for the turn around?

well I rang up HTC and they said it'll be £25 charge if they deem it's just a wear and tear problem. They also state that all the new htc black casings should not suffer from the chipping.

Anyway, they're collecting it on Monday so we'll see what happens.

yep 3 days including the pickup and return
 
Developers at XDA have got the sense V4+ jellybean from the one SE working on the S now, no one has really posted what they have noticed so far apart from faster/smoother etc. Some have posted benchmark scores and not much improvement, certainly not as much as the X, I guess HTC spent a heck of a lot more time and money on the software for the X than they did for the S.....
