Thanks! :)

Yeah, I really love the 1S camera, it doesn't really have many weak areas except mainly HDR shots (in bright conditions) and dark conditions (plus other things like light metering).

Although since editing these photos manually especially when it comes to reducing the noise, I have noticed that there is actually quite a fair bit present (even under good lighting conditions), although more so with the first lot of photos as that was before the update, which improved the camera i.e. before on left and after noise reduction on right

It is still present but not quite as bad but...... it depends entirely on the subject, lighting etc. so kind of hard to say for "definite"

It will be interesting to see if there will be any camera improvements with sense V5.1, hopefully HDR will improve quite a bit!

hehe :D I will see what I can do! :p

Something good has happened to my one xl battery

Disabled a load of built in software on Friday and battery life has improved loads

Took it off charge this morning and currently sat at 70% after a lot of usage including taking photos and using Bluetooth to a wireless speaker

The hipbox gtx-24b is a brilliant speaker , picked it up for 25 quid

Well pleased with the battery life , its almost as if its doubled

Can't stop editing! :o :p

Tweaked these shots a bit more:

Went for a "brighter" look this time, but think I still prefer the first one..... Noise is quite visible in the sky too :( Will need to find out how to reduce it! :p (was probably created/increased when running it through the HDR toning in CS 6 though) Should probably have reduced the saturation of the yellow and orange a wee bit further too.......

Thanks kona.

It is superb just how much noise you can reduce without decreasing the detail and sharpness too much, works absolute wonders with low light/dark conditions i.e. a HTC one photo, which had a ton of noise :o

@emu

What sort of stuff did you disable?

EDIT:

Slightly tweaked this one too:

Just played another 3 hours if music bluetoothed and battery is still at 45%

This is better than my nexus 4 and my s3

Will post what I disabled

^ Nice, I think we should change the title to the official HTC One S/XL thread!

Great looking pictures Nexus! Those edited holiday ones are epic. It's incredible how far phones have come in such a short space of time, my point and shoot has been made totally redundant. :D Shame we don't have access to the RAW files... :p

Oh and where's our Zoe? :D

Thanks sarge :)

hehe indeed, badly want to be able to take RAW shots now after reading up on them! :D  Maybe some day......... :p

Hopefully we will get it next month, although I am putting my money on July......

Hmmm, this isn't looking good :(

HTC One S “Might” Get Android 4.2 Jelly Bean

Will be annoyed if the one S doesn't get the sense V5/4.2.2 update let alone receive it around the same time as the X i.e. no having to wait for like 4+ months! No reason why it shouldn't get the update in a timely manner, hardware is the same as the XL except screen res.

If it doesn't then unfortunately, I definitely won't be touching another HTC phone :( Refuse to support a company that doesn't provide good long term support, why the xxxx can't google etc. sort the damn update area out, seriously it actually makes me want to abandon android all together and go for an iphone! :o

Will just have to make do without sense.

Roll on the moto X phone and 4.3 and if they fail to impress then I might just have to go down the GS 4 route and go back to rooting etc. *sigh* :(

Strongly considering swapping my S for my friends nexus 4 right now........

It absolutely sucks with android phones and updates, you want to be guaranteed to get updates quickly and have long term support, you can only buy the flagship devices from Samsung and HTC for android (excluding nexus devices) and even then they still take forever to provide the updates and there is still no guarantee as to if you will get long term support.........
