***The Official HTC One Thread***

yeah a few people sent theirs back because of this :) stoosh being one of them.

Ah so it's not meant to be like this then? I may return it next month if thats the case.. The early batch of HO seems a bit naff.:o. Anyone know what P4U are like with faulty phones? Turn around times etc?

its a fault without a doubt.. if i remember correctly stoosh bought from p4u and he said they were great with returns etc.

Does anybody else feel like the back "button" is a bit hit and miss? Sometimes I'll have to press it 3 or 4 times for it to even register!

Mine is also like this, but I'm going to wait until the whole camera situation becomes a bit clearer (no pun intended) before I request a replacement.

Yes Dude, well remembered! Exactly the reason why I returned my HO and P4U were excellent throughout. I can't fault them at all plus I got refund paid into the bank really quickly!

Surprised most of you didn't wait, given the One X issues last year and HTC's rush to beat samsung, issues were likely initially, but hopefully they'll be fixed soon. Although I'm waiting for a nexus 5, pretty happy with my one x/g300.

Going Brentcross today, so hopefully can play with one.

I really, really can't decide between this and the S4.

Had my heart set on the S4, but the more videos etc I watch on the HTC sway me towards it.

I use to have the htc one s and x, however didn't keep them for long as when you setup push emails there would be problems when connected to wifi, the email would not come through straight away.

Has that now been sorted on the One?

Just saw engadget chinese mention in their HTC One review about that Google MIGHT be the force behind that lead to HTC sudden removal the remapping option from HTC One's newer ROM because Google insisting the menu button must somehow be 'observable' on sight.

In that case why not stick with the traditional menu, home and back buttons? They should only swap menu for multi task when Google force everyone else to do the same.

Has anyone here ordered from mobilephonesdirect before? are there phones on contract sim free handsets or network branded. Tempted for a t mobile deal with the htc one they are offering.

Used them loads of times over the years and they all been unlocked and no branding.

Is there any objective info on the quality of the GPS in the One? In my DHD it is totally dead and a bit of googling has found that the S3 > One X in regards to satellite locks. Can't find anything about the One though.

From reading on XDA, apparently GPS works really well.

Never had any problems with my one S, locks on super quick and is very accurate too, even when inside houses/buildings etc.

The One X does not use GLONASS which explains that. If you use GPS and GLONASS together you can get very accurate locations.

The HTC One does though and so should be as good as the S3.

I've had no problems with GPS at all. Was quick to get the intial lock and now locks extremely quickly.

It'll get a proper test tomorrow on the journey to Manchester, lets see how the battery stands up to 2-3 hours of music.
