***The Official HTC One Thread***

well got my htc one yesterday and its going back nice phone but had shoddy build quality. Now stuck what to do,get another and hope its better or try a different phone. My last 3 have been galaxy 1,2 and 3 good phones but a bit bored with them to buy number 4.iphone is too small,so that's out of the question.Any recommendations

In the end for me I ended up selling my HTC One (didn't make much of a loss, mind) and I've defected to the Galaxy S4. I've had it over a week now and I cannot complain about it one bit. I won't ramble on about it any more as I know this is the thread dedicated to the One and it's not relevant.

While it was not an easy decision to make, after all the palava I've had with HTC's customer support with trying to get them to replace the camera unit on the phone, after nearly 2 months of getting them to sort it out properly they've finally put the camera issues solely down to software and that it would be fixed with the 4.2.2 update (when it finally does get released in the UK). Even though their customer support is UK based I am thoroughly disappointed with how I how I was dealt with, and it's because of this and as this is the second HTC phone that I've had issues with (first being the Desire HD) - I don't think I will buy another HTC again.

The one and only thing I do miss about the HTC One looking back now is the incredible speakers, hands down they are brilliant.

Threes network is that great I don't even bother hooking upto wifi no more.
this. just done a speed test with my new Three Htc One and then run my HTC Sensation on EE.

Three was over twice as fast.

loving the simplicity of the change as well, htc's stock transfer tool has done a good job of transferring over 1000 messages and another 2000 pictures and videos in just a few mins. well impressed.

Build quality seems great. just got to swap my old number in and try out the body glove tactic case I ordered for work.

Hmm had the phone crash and restart a few times recently and its just done it again now. This time how ever its not turning back on, also no charging light when I plug it into the charger :/

Think its dead :p

not in RUU form if that's what you meant?

I'm not sure. I'm still undecided on which route to go. I was thinking of using the all in one toolkit to unlock the bootloader and flash a custom recovery, then use TWRP to sideload a rooted stock 4.2.2. ROM.

I've never done the whole S-OFF thing before and I dunno where to begin with it. I flashed a few ROMs on my HTC One X using the method above and it worked fine.

I've been through the same thoughts but at the end of the day, I like sense roms so I'll just wait for the official ones, I use Skygo a bit too so if I flash a custom rom I wont be able to use that

I found a stock Sense ROM on XDA, which is cool cause I like sense too. I just know that EE are super slow with updates and I'm impatient. :p

Its pretty much just an executable file that you run with phone connected to pc, fully automated, theres a few out for the One but no 4.2 ones yet
