***The Official HTC One Thread***

Just out if interest, what are the main objections, or downsides, to the default HTC keyboard?

(Edit: Great minds think alike! ;) )

definately getting this over an S4 which is so 'meh' IMO.

however reading about a possible refresh this year, an HTC One+ with snapdragon 800 and maybe a higher ultrapixel count.

does anyone know if this is true and what ETA we'd be looking at?

is black durable as it looks amazing in person?

Alright I'm not going to root/use a ROM as I don't want to lose certain features, anyone know how I can rollback to the previous update? Miss my keyboard that much :p

I think I'll give it a week or two and see if I can get to grips with Swiftkey since I already had it purchased and going to try out that layout Skyfall posted in phone desktop thread, looks sweet.

Does anyone know how to make the phone not display my facebook picture as my contact card and instead something like twitter or even a custom image ?

Is it worth rooting just for titanium backup?

(Do apologise for the many simple and silly questions)

so i had a proper proper proooper look at one today... LMAO at that nled.. ?! camera interface was a bit meh imo but ok quality, but that NLED just made me LOL what was htc thinking?!

Did anyone else get two new bits of software installed following the 4.2.2 update?

I've now got KeyVPN and Rescue installed and it doesn't look like they can be removed.

I might have missed them on the list of changes but is there no way to remove them?

Just did last weeks update and now google keyboard isn't available to use 0.o

It's a known bug with google keyboard. With 4.2.2 certain CIDs don't work. If you're really bothered about using google keyboard (I just use swype for now) you could use S-off to change to CID and it will work.

Rescue was installed for me since 1.28, KeyVPN came with 2.24 for me. You can't remove them without rooting, but you can disable them.

Meanwhile, seems a variant of the HO will be skipping 4.2.2 and will be jumping straight to 4.3 in early Q3: http://www.androidcentral.com/cincinnati-bell-htc-one-could-skip-android-42-go-straight-43

Possible sign that 4.3 is already being worked on?
