***The Official HTC One Thread***

Ever since they (or one of their sellers) were found to be selling 'new' models which weren't, a fact which was mentioned earlier in this thread, their price for these seems to have been falling steadily.

True, but Amazon customer service is usually really good so I guess they may even compensate you if you complain about not getting a brand new model.
Only thing would be the PITA of returning the device!

Why would it be a PITA to return? Amazon's returns is one of the easiest out there?

It is indeed, and of course they even pay for the return, or sometimes give you the option of having it collected.... it did give rise to more than a few one star reviews unfortunately, which were not really indicative of the device itself, but more about the device they received not being as described which, under the circumstances, was probably understandable.

I did in fact nearly buy one from there myself, but ended up getting one under contract from Vodafone, which I was pleased to find had none of the QC issues which a lot of other users were reporting around that time.

Yeah I've heard Amazon are really good in that regard. I was thinking it's a PITA if you have to return the product if they send you a used HTC One when you're expecting a brand new one.

What were the quality issues at the time?

As I recall there were complaints that they had previously had Vodafone software installed, had not properly been reset to factory defaults and purchasers were receiving error messages when the tried to update the firmware, and the phones had been badly repacked.

A lot more information can be found here.

Hope this helps!

The problems should all have been sorted out by now though.

My HO snuffed it last week. Went to bed with 70% battery, woke up and it wouldn't turn on. Connected to the mains, but no power LED either. Got the phone being collected by HTC today which is good.

Any one had experience with HTC Support before? Good turn around time?

Thanks!

Mine has a particularly annoying habit of draining battery whilst switched off... still haven't got to the bottom of it... thankfully it always seems to come back to life via the charger. Hope you get yours sorted.

Just installed the latest ARHD 20.1 (with Android 4.3)!

Just been reminded how much of a chore it is to set up the phone :p

- Have noticed GSAM battery just keeps saying "check back later" rather than giving a predicted time till the battery runs out. Slightly annoying.

All fine with me. I just restored all of my apps with titanium backup haven't had a problem with any of them (including GSAM).

GSAM has started working again! :)

Nothing else affected, but atleast I have all the bloatware gone. Even if it was hidden, it was just annoying.

Did you do the firmware updates as well? I did mine and it restored the battery life to near what it was when I bought the thing.

I shattered my screen last Tuesday phoned HTC support on Wednesday and my phone was collected on Thursday. got the quote through on Monday which i paid straight away (approx £130 for a new screen fitted and the phone returned) and i got the phone back today. No visible gaps around the speakers etc. the screen is centered and straight as far as i can tell and i can not find any scratches anywhere on the phone so i am very happy with the service.

Thanks dude. That's an odd one. Anything on the battery usage charts that point to a culprit?

Nice! Thanks for the input dude. Mine was picked up Wednesday, but the HTC tracking tool hasn't changed to say it's there yet :O. The UPS tracking says it's there however. Hopefully I'll get a response from them next week.

The tracking number HTC gave me didn't work at all. I phoned them Tuesday to find out what was happening and was told was coming back wed or thur.
