Does anyone else get spam come through as notifications? I'm getting loads recently little tiny stars that you open (drag down) and revels a banner of an advert

Also what have they done to the smilies after the update?

Try using airpush detector to find out which app is doing it.

I thought the smilies were just missing from the ARHD ROM I'm using. Are they gone from the stock OTA update too? If so, very weird. Although they were a bit creepy...

You've installed something with Airpush. Get the airpush detector app off the play store & it will tell you which app it is & uninstall it.

Has anyone elses battery life been absolutely hammered by this new update? When I check the usage under the power tab it is saying that android system is using over 95%! Is there anything I can do to see what is running. It was fine before the update went OTA.

Just stuck the latest ARHD on mine, as well as keeping it without a cover/case on as the thing feels so nice.

Still loving this phone, feels as fresh as it did when I got it at launch

I've had this for the last two updates. always system using over 90% of the battery and unfortunately that covers a lot of services!

The cameras purple tint has got too bad now so I've contacted three.

As I've already sent my phone in 3 times in the past I've told them to send me a new one. They're going to get back to me on that.

Got an HTC One black to replace my Nexus 4, managed to sell it £180. Bought some nillkin cases but use my carben fibre incipio case all the time. Put Google play edition KitKat on last night.

How are you finding KK? Was checking XDA and it seems to be a mixed bag so far over there.

And Llabfooter having connections with HTC must be fun: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=47889504&postcount=3791

That is awesome for sense users who have unlocked their boot loader! Shouldn't have to wait too long now for your sense.

I've been running GPE 4.4 from Wednesday, Very smooth, battery seems about the same really although play services is high on the battery stats list now but doesn't seem to be draining any quicker than it was before. But I have installed bulletproof kernel cause I wanted to get rid of the menu bar at the bottom of some apps & make the area above the logo the menu so maybe that has helped with the battery I don't know :D

If it's the same as the Nexus 5, disabling Google Now and, off the top of my head, in Settings > Apps > All clear the cache for Google Play Services and Google Services Framework (I think they are the two needed) then restart the phone. Google Play Services doesn't appear in my N5 battery stats at all after this.
