***The Official HTC One Thread***

I think HTC charged me £160 to replace my screen about 6 months ago. I looked at the videos about how to replace it myself and decided I would just pay.

What's the cid of the phone you got the sense 6 update on please?

But it's so easy to check :p... https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.tritonsoft.cidgetter

Did you have any problems after the update? Is everything still there? Any apps missing from 5.5?

Cant see anything missing.

However HTC have loaded some more junk on.

HTCpower to give (or something) basically like samsung power sleep but htc version.

The new camera is still pretty crap. Cleaner looking but no more functional and seems to have some stuff removed.

Loads of things like facebook for sense, instagram for sense, twitter for sense etc etc. just seems like a lot of bloat imo so have disabled it.

The general feel is quite nice however, looks cleaner in the settings. I think they are trying to get a custom launcher type feel but it falls far short of what nova can do!

One thing that feels worse is when Im on the notification bar and select the tile tab with all the options on, it doesnt transition smoothly like it used to.

However the icons have nice new animations and the notification bar icons are much nicer and cleaner. Also emails can be read from the notification bar now where as before they never worked for me.

Got the update on an unlocked HTC One with CID of HTC__Y13

**edit**
Just had a quick look at it and it seems like they've changed the colour scheme from blue to green, not sure how you can change it back. The clock and weather has been removed from the blink feed aswell and there doesn't look like a way to get it back from a quick poke around.

**edit2**
Found out how to change the colour scheme.

Settings > Personalize > Theme
Then select one of the 4 default themes. It's not obivious where the colour pallett at the top of the themes apply to which areas though.

Go for it, it's a great phone.

Played around with Sense 6 on the M8, and it does feel great. However, I decided to flash GPe on my M7 instead. Liking it even more but there are some elements I'm missing from Sense, such as the native sync to Facebook for contact pictures, the battery percentage icon, and the ability to change the widgets in the notification area.

But overall I guess I really do prefer a more Nexus style.

EDIT: Urgh, didn't realise the wallpaper doesn't scroll like Sense. At least it works with Muzei.

And the menu button, but luckily it seems all my apps finally got around this with their own menu button.

Can someone with Android 4.4/Sense 5.5 go into "Settings" -> "About phone" -> "Software Information" -> "More" and and tell what baseband version they have? I'm noticing the 3G signal on GPe doesn't seem as stable as Sense, and I don't seem to be getting 4G at all any more (although that may be a giffgaff thing).

4A.25.3263.21_10.38x.1157.04L on mine

Thanks, I'll flash that and hopefully that will sort out my signal problem. If not, then I guess it's just a GPe limitation.

EDIT: 3G signal is stronger and showing max bars again now, so the baseband is working, thanks for that. Still no 4G however, but I have a feeling it's due to giffgaff's 4G being only in trial.

EDIT: Ohhhh... HTC's TV app works on the GPe version... I can have a taste of Sense 6 on GPe :p. Also, just tested 3's SIM from a friend and 4G works fine on it. Must be giffgaff being giffgaff then.

I believe it's compatible with any KitKat ROM, but there's a link to all the previous firmwares too. It only contains radio, hboot etc.

Decided to flash the firmware from .11 and got the same radio I flashed before. Still no giffgaff 4G, I could try reflashing a Sense ROM and see if that gets it back, but the HTC guru site seems to be down...

On the other hand, that firmware update changed the bootloader back to white, the GPe's black looked so much better :p.

I'm actually considering going back to Sense though, I realise there are actually some bits of Sense I actually do like using over GPe...
