***The Official HTC One Thread***

Anyone have the not charging whilst on problem? Mine has suddenly developed it, wondering if anyone had any ideas how to resolve it?

I've just arranged to have mine repaired for the camera issue too. I've not got much damage on mine at all but I can see the miniscule scratches on the display and there's a very minor dint on the top corner - should make it easier to see if they've replaced the phone or if they've just swapped the camera out.

I bought one brand new last week for a good price, unfortunately there's a strong purple tint on the camera which seems is quite widespread.

Rather than risk receiving another defect I'm going to ask for a refund. Such a shame as aside from the average battery life it's the perfect me.

Get onto HTC?

My M8's currently at HTC/Regenersis Huntingdon to be repaired for an intermittent issue not recognising the sim card.

As it's an intermittent fault and HTC's repair reputation is poor, I'm expecting it to take about 3 weeks and come back still not working properly.

Still, you gotta try eh... best phone I've ever owned (and I've owned a lot of phones)

Mines been approved for repair under warranty for purple camera pictures in low light. I read somewhere that it's due to the camera module burning out due to zoes keeping it active for so long on each shot. If it gets refused I'll see how good my banks phone insurance is.

Had an update last night which apparently is a load of bug fixes. When it popped up I was hoping it was the new Lollipop Android 5.0 release, but no such luck :(

Android Version: 4.43
HTC Sense 6.0

Is what I'm currently on.

Apparently, we are due to get it this week... but they've changed that at the last minute before.

I'm hoping the update will fix the issue I have with Bluetooth where my phone constantly connects/disconnects with my cars head unit.

The Lollipop update you are talking about is for the GPe version, the Sense version is still due in at around early next year.

Bluetooth has been fine for me, I pretty much have it constantly connected to my LG G Watch R.

Oh right.... so what's the difference?

Oddly, my phone has drained the battery completely today with very little use... Hope its not the update I applied yesterday.

GPe = Google Play Edition. It runs a near on stock Android experience.

Sense = HTC's own take on Android.

It is possible to change your M7 into a GPe device with some commands & a file.

Ah right OK thanks. :-)
Think I'll keep it stock for now. Need to replace the screen though as mine is cracked badly. I've seen on the auction site some screens but there's different model numbers like 801S and 801E. How do I know which one mine is?

Thanks.

Screen or digitiser? I have a full black case and digitiser for a one M7, but not the LCD itself. I'm happy to post out for nothing. I got mine fixed via insurance in the end.

I've just done the GPE setup on my replacement, bloody faff getting S-Off to do it but ready for Lollipop now :)

They've committed to releasing lollipop for the (non GPe) m7 in 90days from release so should be done by den latest... So don't hold your breath but it should be coming...

Hi,

Hmm, not sure how easy it would be to just change the digitizer. It would mean separating all of the broken glass off. I have done this a few times on iPhones and it was a nightmare. I think taking the Phone apart itself is going to be a pain so I want to order a whole LCD and digitizer unit to make it easier. I just don't know which version I need.

Wish I knew what version of the M7 mine one, the auction site has got screen assembly's for the 801S and the 801E...

I might consider doing this as I don't really see the point in sense. I certainly don't use the news feed thing on the home screen. What was involved and was it worth it?
