***The Official HTC One Thread***

it has a 2 year warranty. just get on to HTC. turn around is about a week, totally free.

recently replaced a screen and fixed the purple tint issue on a ONE M7 that was purchased almost on release. no proof needed just the sn/pn stickers that come in the box.

Screen? Did you break/crack it? I need to replace mine. Camera is also doing the purple haze thing.

I have had a nightmare with HTCs warranty. I raised the case for repair due to purple camera on the 20th Oct. For three weeks I tried to get them to pick it up arranging a date each week for them to not turn up and the send a message a few days later saying the date I suggested had passed.
When I escalated it with HTC they phoned me back and arranged the courier who did pick the phone up. It was sent back within a week with back replaced and camera fixed( I assume it is all one piece). Went to make a call only to find that no one could hear me as the mic hole hadn't been drilled at the bottom. On top of that the volume buttons were really week and to actuate them you had to push them right into the body. The screen around the volume buttons also wasn't clipped in properly meaning you could see the pcb between it and the body, it was fitted top and botton though and the screen was actually bent where it wasn't fitted. Its due back today so i'll see what the next repair is like. Goes to prove that they don't check the phones when they send them out though other wise the mic would have been picked up as unserviceable. I thought HTC would have a better service than this, that's why I went with them over Samsung in the first place.

I popped the Lollipop update on my Gpe One just now. Very impressed. It seems to run a lot better and the overall experience is much more polished than it was before. I reckon I'll get another year of usage out of this fella.

Did yours go to Regenersis? Mine did, it came back mostly OK but I've heard bad things about them.

Is anyone else getting odd notifications about finding duplicate images on the cloud? Checking the app info shows it's coming from the updated gallery app. After a while the notification changed to it being done... tapping on it opens the gallery app as normal, so I don't even know what it did. I'm hoping it didn't delete any of my photos...

Also, the slideshow preview on the album view is seriously annoying, it changes between pictures so fast as well. Another thing I have also noticed is that it seems to have merged the "Camera" (from Google Camera) and "100MEDIA" (from HTC's camera) folders into one camera album, it got me a little confused at first wondering where the extra photos came from.

Think I'll disable the app, I've been playing around with QuickPic on my N10 and prefer using it.

nope, it became unresponsive through one axis (couldnt swipe sideways for example) so it may have been a digitaliser change i dont know, but i got it back and the purple tint had been fixed as well

next time (if there is one) just tell them you will drop it off at a ups collection point and they give you a label to stick on it. most places have them (im in a small lincs market town and its a newsagent here)

Yes that's who have had it. Got it back again Monday this week, the repair is still rubbish. They have fixed what it went back for but the phone no longer fits together like it did before it was sent to them, so what they do to give the illusion of zero gaps is fill the gaps with white silicone. I have white silicone around both speaker grills and down one side of the screen. The screen side isn't even uniform and there are gaps in the sealing. I'm not a happy bunny.

I'm done with HTC now, they make great phones but that after service is shocking and they even tried to tell me it was nothing to do with them as an outside company fixes the phones. They don't get that they should be setting the standard Regenersis fixes them too. Imagine if the phone was only a couple of months old and it came back like this.

Ordered a Nexus 6 now.

I agree, the service from HTC is poor as is the overall reliability of their handsets.
I started off with a HTC Desire which was great. I then upgraded to a HTC One X of which I went through 4 before I got one that worked properly. I then upgraded to a HTC One (m7) of which I've been through 3 and even this one doesn't work fully.

I'll probably go for a Sony next.

shocking but unfortunately I think it's a matter of luck. My m7 came back fine after they fixed the screen in about a week. Sony have had my z3 for about 4 weeks to fix the screen and I still haven't got it back yet. In another week they'll have had my phone for longer than I had it.

Arrrgh, even more confused now. I didn't know which version of the HTC One I had for a screen replacement. Looked on the auction site and there were screens for the HTC One 801S and the 801E but on my box, I've got the HTC 801n

What's the difference?! Google is throwing up mixed answers...

won't 801n be referring to WIFI?

801n is the model number for the Europe, Middle East, Africa, GSM US and Canadian versions of the HO.

They should all be using similar screens really, I guess it may depend on what was avaliable at that time on who manufactured it, and which factory assembled the phone.

Thanks pal. That makes sense.

Very odd that they list the screens as being for other models though, I wonder what could be different about them?

How stable is the Lollipop GPe ROM? Last time I tried KK GPe not being able to remap the menu button bugged me quite a bit, and I did noticed there was a few Sense things I did miss. But I feel like doing some flashing :p.
