***The Official HTC One Thread***

I use loudspeaker every now and then at night for videos and in the morning to catch up on youtube videos etc. and when showing videos to friends etc. don't listen to music much and never ever would I blast music etc. on public transport.

Pretty much every single review/user opinion has praised the speakers for loudness and clarity even when at max volume. The "perceived" volume is cut by like 50% when placed on the back and not to mention not as crystal clear then.

IMO it is probably the main unique feature of the HTC one, just like the xperia Z and it being water proof.

Wonder what the GS 4 "unique" feature will be?

This immediately makes buying the phone impossible unless an update comes out to fix it pretty damn quickly. Even with a remap, long pressing the back button is hardly perfect either.

Such failure all for a stupid HTC logo on the front that nobody wants. :(

This means that the option *was* present (at least at MWC?), and then has seemingly been removed (at least for the German supply)- why would they do that? Very strange.

Surely HTC can't take such a step backwards, given that they 'fixed' the same complaint on the previous model, but cripple themselves again with the new one? God knows what's going on.

I read that thread on XDA, the guy in Germany said he had no option in the settings, however someone else in Taiwan/China then posted screenies of his unit, with Facebook + 3 dot menu and then without the 3 dot menu, presumably he still had his option (can't read Chinese).

It's really confusing, most likely there's the HO with two firmwares floating about one with the remap option and one without?

Still the delay (whatever the cause of it may be) will give HTC a chance to finalize everything software wise and in the process deliver a damn fine phone without any quibbles.

Rainforest have no posted this on their website

"HTC One Stock Update
Please note--Due to demand, the release date for the HTC One has been moved to March, 29. Orders taken before March, 13 will be fulfilled as soon as possible after the release date of March, 29. Further orders are expected to be delivered in the following week.
"

Due to demand? Presumably the demand of customers and carriers that the product meets acceptable QC standards.

Exactly....sounds like carp to me! Wonder what the real reason behind the delay is? HTC need all the advantage of releasing the HO early before the inevitable tidal wave that is the S4 washes over them.

Major **** up from HTC this, if they had got it out this week it would have got a lot of customers, now people will just wait and see what Samsung do before deciding.

Another right royal ****up by htc :(
The retailers must have based their projected release date of the 15th on something they were told by htc, they wouldn't have just made up the date. But once again another botched launch by htc, why oh why don't they every learn.
I'm almost tempted to cancel my perorder and hang on to see what's around the corner :(

The problem now is quite a simple one, when the phone is released, the Galaxy S4 will have a set release date most likely - which sucks massively for HTC.

As people mentioned above, when Apple do a product event the release date is part of the announcement, on the stage, they make a big deal about it, and rightly so. Like so:

They even go further than that and break it down into individual countries, so everyone knows when to expect it.

HTC just announced the phone and then didn't really talk about availability aside from the usual 4G this and 4G that rubbish.

I think Samsung announced the S3 release date during the event, didn't they?
