***The Official HTC One Thread***

Correct me if I am wrong but I thought verizon are one of the biggest/most popular phone networks for the USA? IIRC the one series phones came to verizon?

EDIT: just had a quick google and supposedly verizon "passed up" on the one series phones.........

I think Verizon while popular have a habit of ruining android phones in the US. They are very slow with updates and have much bloatware and sticks branding everything including the home button of the Galaxy note 2 for example.

Verizon like to sell their own phones, usually under the "Droid" brand. They sold the Droid Incredible 4G LTE instead of the One S and Rezound instead of the One X, which got replaced by the Droid DNA in November.

They're about 6 months out of sync with general releases, alternatively think of them as pre production hardware testers for HTC. :D

girlfreind got her htc one today. It is a very nice phone. tryed holding the htc and sony and htc felt a lot more rigid. felt if you dropped the sony you would create a right mess with all the glass.

I know, who'd have thought that a new highly acclaimed phone would be difficult to get hold of at launch if you weren't quick?

Mine comes Monday.

The release date was the 15th, almost 3 days later and in my area not available sim free in any store. So yeah, HTC messed up again.

3 whole days? Good god, call the Daily Mail!!!

Seriously, get a grip fella! If you wanted one on release day, you should have pre-ordered it. It's that simple.

Not a big deal, its not like the next coming of christ they lost out not me or others who needed a high end android phone the last week or so. Pre order makes sense when you can physically feel a model in the store, i couldnt find one.

Hmm, amazon and 3 both had it for the 15th either way im sure it was delayed due to failure to source some equipment.

Yeah, but that could be retailers jumping the gun, HTC never announced a date. However, some retailers/networks did have it for the 15th.

Been following HTC one and S4 and as much as I like the S4 I am tempted to get the ONE. For a change TBH, I currently have N4 but had the S3,S2,S,Note so want to move away from Samsung, My only issue with HTC is the locked bootloader at launch.

Nice side by side comparison of the I5 and One, have to say the one looks way better and sounds it too.

And against the 808 pureview.

Same again but I5 and one in the underground car park lower light.

I think the iPhone 5 is slightly more detailed in certain parts (the lighter parts for sure), but the HTC looks to be a bit smoother overall. Fine margins though.

Unfortunately the cameras are side by side and aren't filming the exact same thing so it's tricky to make things out. For example at the beginning the HTC image seems more blurry than the i5; look at the details on the building as well, much better on the i5. Perhaps the HTC wasn't in focus.

So.. who's got the best deal so far?

I'm really tempted to buy now but I did the same last year with the One-X and a week or two later, I saw a deal on HUKD that made me want to cry.
