***The Official HTC One Thread***

Ya battery life might be a concern (ONE X had some serious battery issues initially but were fixed).

I am not bothered about the looks but TBH this phone looks very nice. Will wait for the 29th have a play with it to see what it feels like. Earlier this month I got the chance to play with one (HTC REP had one) and it was blazing fast.

I also really like the sound of the call quality and external speakers... from the reviews the quality is so good that it will effectively negate the need for portable mini speakers. Good for impromptu summer bbq or sunbathing tunes.

Also just a slight shame the camera is only 4MP, regardless of the IQ improvements of te "megapixel" tech, I would like a bit of cropping and larger image sizes to play with.

Battery life should be pretty damn good, in theory it should be better than the droid DNA due to smaller screen, more PE CPU chipset (when being pushed it apparently uses 40% less power than the S4 pro), bigger battery and possibly sense V5 improvements in the PE area.

One X was awful due to them putting power hungry tech. in it i.e. tegra 3 and then poor software optimisation with it didn't help matters at all.

The verge review is pretty crap regarding battery life especially their video test...

Ya In theory it should be much better lets see what HTC come up with. I am really tipping towards this phone, The Last HTC I had was the Desire-Z, which was an amazing device.

Ok, some photo comparisons... the first pictures were taken from my balcony, fairly typical Glasgow day, very cloudy although the sun was peeking through the clouds when I took them.

Apologies for the high res images, you can just zoom out to fit them on the screen, makes it easier to compare them.

lol at the last one.. but over all the camera looks rubbish :O not much if any better than s2(and that is old)

plus the blurry right/left hand side.. this means even the "final" models have the lens issue..

A couple more, I didn't press the screen to focus on the first outside ones so wanted to check whether it made a difference... I'm an amateur I know. :p

Yeah GS 2 is looking better overall :/

Must be something causing the problem as some shots are looking really good and then some just look shockingly bad.

If the camera doesn't improve at all, then am sticking with my S.

its not your skills for sure.. there's something really wrong or htc had soap in their eyes when they were testing the camera.. :)

Nothing wrong with your shots, something wrong with the phone itself be it software and/or hardware issue as some shots look fantastic (i.e. some comparisons show the photos to be much better than the likes of the xperia Z and the photos compared to the GS 4 even looked better [so far]) but then there are photos where the one looks absolutely crap.

That HDR shot looks great.
