*** The official HTC One X thread ***

Anyone got an idea of what the HTC Navigation tool is like, whether it works only under Sense, and how much it is after the free trial??

I never found HTC Navigation to be any good and they have the nerve to charge for it...

Stick to Google Nav or NavFree if you want local stored maps.

Also use IVONA for TTS.

Tried IVONA but it keeps crashing my OneX. It tries to check voice files are ok (or something like that) and then makes the phone completely unresponsive.

I uninstalled it and its back to normal.

Just got this. This is now taking the ****.

Any sim free UK owners got the new update?

Is there a new software version available, I've got a sim free phone and have the following software:

Android Version 4.0.3
HTC Sense Version 4.0
Software Number 1.28.401.9
HTC SDK API Level 4.12

There has been one OTA update as far as I know and I had the phone on 04 April.

Is there a way to configure/change settings for the "microphone" side of things?
My phone is being fine - as a phone. People hear me without any problems at all.
I was messing around with "Talking Tom 2" earlier (drives our cat mad, so a bit of a giggle) however it was having a real difficult time picking up what we were saying.
Running the same app on my old Desire everything worked fine, repeated what we said. However on the One X it is just very distorted or "noise" rather than anything we say to it.

Any settings I'm issing somewhere?

If I pay to have my phone unlocked will that mean I get the updates when the unlocked/unbranded phones do?

You can get it unlocked via ebay for £1.44 though which is just the sim lock.... Otherwise still limited to the network providers updates etc.....
Tempted to root it and try different roms but not just yet as that only changes the rom and not update anything else like the radio firmware etc which is part of the over the air updates.

Hmmm strange going ons with my One X, im on tmobile but it seems like my phone likes the Orange network far more lol. Only way it goes back to tmobile is if i go into the settings and press auto network then it says registered on network:confused:.

Only thing im worried about is if my phone is using Orange, would i be charged for using their network??. I know tmo and orange share masts but on my BB9900 if it uses orange, then it usually says tmobile-orange and my One X just says Orange.

Another thing is every so often the phone will ask me to confirm my date and time:confused:, Looked through the settings and its on automatic so surely it shouldnt ask me that everytime i lose reception and then get back reception.

Also just wanted to clarify that if i go to settings and mobile network, if i turn it off...it should turn the mobile network off right??. On mine, it doesnt so i dont know why that option is there if it doesnt turn off the signal.

Anyone have any ideas??.

I have an unbranded/unlocked One X on the way, and just wondering if you get OTA updates for these, or do you have to hack it on there?

I've got a unbranded unlocked One X and have had one OTA update so far, however there was another one released yesterday, I'm waiting to get that one.
