most likely the sensation

No definitely wasn't that as it had the big camera on the back and it was right in the middle. Maybe he was just wrong about the specs!

My contracts up within the next few weeks with three and was surprised I hadn't recieved any calls asking me to upgrade.
Saw you can now preorder the One X and S with three , so gave them a call this morning seeing if i could get a deal on my upgrade but they couldn't do anything (not surprised) just standard price plans on the site.

So now hoping I'll get a call offering me a better deal

*Also got told they didn't do loyalty discount and didn't have a retentions department anymore (I'm guessing thats just bs?)

I'm really only after the One S, but if the One X is only a little more I'll go for it.

I just hope T-Mobile's retentions are decent: I really don't want to change my inclusives much or up my tariff by much more than a fiver. I can't see them offering me a free One series even if I threaten to leave!

Hmmm .... not really sure what to do. My contract on Orange is upgradable at the moment and I like the look of the HTC One X but I'm not really sure how to go about it ...

Upgrade directly through Orange ... keep any benefits (I get a 10% discount on the line rental), "easier" process, but I suspect Orange will but a load of junk on the phone as they normally do and from the link posted earlier in the thread it's likely to cost more than option 2.

Upgrade via CPW ... possibly cheaper, probably lose benefits; but "cleaner" phone (I've been told their phones aren't operator branded?), more complicated process?, get less minutes on the CPW upgrade than on my current contract for around the same price (not that I normally even use that many anyway).

I don't know ...

Just noticed Vodafone have some pricing up on their website - have both the Grey and White available for pre-order:
All the below are 24 month plans, monthly cost and then handset price:

£26 - £299
£31 - £199
£36 - £99
£41 - Free
£46 - Free
£62 - Free

On 18 month plans

£31 - £299
£36 - £199
£41 - £99
£46 - Free
£51 - Free
£67 - Free

So not the cheapest prices out there. Need to check my upgrade pricing.

HTC One X is £500 on the jungle site. How likely is it we'll a drop in price after a few weeks? Some electronic companies raise prices on launch to get extra money then cut it a few weeks later.

Looks like a good deal. Do Dialaphone supplied phones allow existing number porting? Been a while since I last used them but they didn't back in the day...

It looks like they do now:

http://www.dialaphone.co.uk/help.aspx#Number Portability
Everywhere that has the One X deals available only lists Vodafone, O2 and Orange as networks. Still nothing from t-Mobile yet.

Hurryyyy uppppppp.

It's available on T-Mobile here:

Dialaphone are taking pre-orders and have it free from £31pm, and give you a free HTC Media Link HD too.

That's a good deal, I'd say the Media link box is now an essential accessory! Wireless dual mirror mode... yum.

Not sure how many apps actually make use of quad core? I seem to remember that the ICS browser started supporting dual/multi cores but I guess it's a case of apps aren't really optimised for it yet?

All the core switching is done through nVidia's proprietary firmware depending on Android's requests, don't think there's much to optimise on the developer side. It'll never allow an app to max out all 4 cores, the battery would die very, very quickly (unless connected to a 5W+ power source :p)
