*** The official HTC One X thread ***

Looks very nice. I'm liking HTCs and will be tempted by this one. Id have to have the X version. Got the Desire HD at the moment and that has a 4.3" screen and I feel that that is big enough! We will see!

(Updated post from my page 1)

These are the key differences, screen especially:

One X - 4.7" Super IPS LCD 2 screen - 720 x 1280 pixels (312 PPI)
One S - 4.3" Super AMOLED - 540 x 960 pixels (256 PPI)
One V - 3.7" 480 x 800 (252 PPI)

32GB onboard storage with the One X, no microSD slot, NFC, 1800mAH non removable battery.
16GB onboard storage with the One S, no microSD slot, no NFC, 1650 mAH non-removable battery.
4GB onboard storage with the One V, microSD slot, no NFC, 1500 mAH battery.

All 3 include 25GB Dropbox space for 2 years.
Useful intel - I've added it to the first post!

Just ordered mine from MPD, £26 a month phone for free, only 100 mins but have another contract for that. Will send my GS2 to one of the phone recycle place and with the cash back it will pay for around 10 months of the contract.

£26 X 24 months is £624. If you are not going to actually be using the contract why not get it sim free for £480 instead?

If you cant remove the battery how can you get a replacement when the battery deteriorates after 1+ year of use?

Sending it back to manufacturer to replace the battery is a major inconvenience. I was considering purchasing it unitll
I saw this.

I don't understand why they did not use the amoled screen in the One X?

Millions of people don't have to send back iDevices for battery replacement, I can't see why it would be any different here.

And you'll probably find that it IS replaceable, you just need tools to do it. So if all you want is to put a new battery in because the old one is kaput then you'll probably be fine.

My understanding was that the screen in the x was far better than amoled?

I wanted to hold out for sgs3 after success of the s2 to replace my desire but contract up end of April and still nothing announced from Samsung so will likely get the x. Must be a lot of people like me that got the desire early on24 month contract and are itching for a new phone. Samsung potentially losing a lot of potential customers by not giving out ANY info.

Just be aware that there seem to be a few different versions of the One X, especially for American carriers vs European. Sprint looks to be getting something quite different from AT&T for example. So just be careful with what news you pick up on, and look for the European version (I assume)

Because the screen on the ONE X is better than AMOLED.

The new sAMOLED+ will need to be very good to beat LGs AH-IPS overall, typical power consumption is almost half compared to the current sAMOLED range. (another reason I'm gutted the S doesn't come with a low power IPS)
