*** The official HTC One X thread ***

Not been keeping a very good eye on this thread.

Was wondering if anybody has experienced the mobile data connection not working when going off wifi? I have to restart my phone to get it working again.

There are a few users (me included) who sometimes get network disconnect issues....Airplane On/Off toglle often works, but sometimes a reboot is necessary. For me, it seems to be an issue only when I lose signal temporarily - i.e. area I am in - and the phone failing miserably to reconnect, usually stating that there are no networks available :(

Ah, I have seen that very occasionally too, lately.
Actually, I heard a plausible sounding explanation around mobile towers being updated/upgraded (both in general and Olympics related - Weymouth is just down the road...) and this occasioanally causing phones to lock onto a cell that was apparently active but not actually 'live'.....sounded believable, so.....tbh, the problem you are referring to has happened to me 2-3 times over the last few weeks or so only, wheras the other issue I alluded to happens a couple of times a week.

I've just installed Better Battery stats and it's showing as since charged (18h 35m), I've had no data connection for 7h 30m and good signal for only 1 hour 35. Screen was on for a total of 2h 1min yet the phone was awake 5h 33min.

Does this indicate a problem with the phone lots of people are experiencing?

Any news on S-OFF & rooting? Only ever rooted by old Desire but i fancy oc'ing this baby now. Any way i can do this without losing all my installed apps & contacts etc as i'm happy with the stock ROM

Can anyone tell me what driver you used when root'ing the One-x?

I keep getting "failed command write failed unknown error" in the command prompt when running the identifier token command.

I have registered HTCDev, downloaded the SDK, with Driver "My HTC" (driver version 04/10/11 2.0.7.8) i get the above error, with the HTC Bootloader interface 11/08/2009 driver i get "waiting for device" instead of the error. The phone is in FASTBOOT USB.

Jesus, took me minutes to root my old Desire.

I have USB debugging mode switched on. All the forums point to my driver being the problem. I point windows to Android\android-sdk\extras\google\usb_driver\ but doesnt find anything. Stuck now.

UPDATE: Used http://androiddrivers.net/htc-android-drivers/download-htc-one-x-64-bit-windows-drivers/ which has "My HTC" 27/08/2008 1.0.7.0v All fine now

I get signal drops, but have noticed my case is causing some of that.... Going to put a skin on it tonight and leave it at that.....

There is a software issue though that is causing it, I am on the Three firmware 1.28, it got worse for me compared to being on 1.26.......

This is something many are reporting across various forums. So far, it seems to be Orange/T-Mob and 3 customers and related to tower handling. It happens to be when driving around areas of weak signal, for example. Possible radio driver issue I think.
