*** The official HTC One X thread ***

What do you mean by quality?

Probably not the best word to describe it.

Basically, where I was getting consistent HDSPA signal with my HTC Sensation I'm getting E all the time or 3G, and I'm always getting switches to E when it should not be as it was not on my HTC Sensation.

Also when ringing people, through dialing, every couple of seconds I'm getting this loud crunch sound and don't know what the hell it is.

Sounds like the same issue we are all seeing. There is a thread on XDA too.

What carrier? T-Mob/Orange or 3?

I also have this, constant flicking between 3G and H. It slows down browsing, and if it happens when I'm on a call, it drops the call.

Very frustrating. My Desire had rock solid H nearly everywhere (and I'm in the same places with my One X). T-Mobile with both phones.

I've flashed ARHD 7.2 in case that helped, but it hasn't. Definitely a software thing though as it happened to me after the second or third OTA FW update I flashed. Prior to that I very rarely saw the 3G icon.

Edit: Can you link to the XDA thread please?

Gets interesting towards the end.

So, I sold my Galaxy Note and picked one of these up for a good price.

So far excluding the battery life I'm pretty impressed. I'm running CM9 because the sense launcher is horrible, the app drawer in particular

Hopefully I can find a from with good battery life

Since installing the No Signal app that Ol!ver linked too a few pages back I've noticed that my signal does tend to drop occasionally, however it's never did it during a call. When I'm out and about I tend to keep 3G off though and only turn it on whenever I want to use my phone to check facebook, twitter, browse and so forth.

The place where it drops the signal most is at home, but I generally get a poor reception on T-Mob in certain parts of my house anyway, and the phone now seems perpetually on Orange whenever I'm at home.

My I just don't use my phone often enough to notice, I dunno, but everything seems to be fine for me.

EDIT: in fact No signal app tells me that my signal only dropped once yesterday (where I was home all day) and a handful of times on Monday when I was travelling. Curious.

I find the app an tell me the signal has dropped loads of times at home but I don't notice it, which makes me wonder if it's some software reporting or handling issue. The next test we need to do is establish a call and go where Signal says the phone has an issue.

The Jelly Bean port is coming along apparently. Sound now works, with the only real issues left being an echo on calls that some are reporting, and the camera doesn't work.

Might have to give it a try later.

Err, I think my One X has died  has just been sat on my desk this morning, and when I tried to check it at lunch time, it will not respond lock button.

Can hear a ring tone when I dial it from another phone, but it does not vibrate or make any noise... no flashing LED for the missed call notification either.

Plugged it in to charge - the orange LED is not coming on.

Dead?

:(

This is something many are reporting across various forums. So far, it seems to be Orange/T-Mob and 3 customers and related to tower handling. It happens to be when driving around areas of weak signal, for example. Possible radio driver issue I think.

Yeh mines on Three.... 1.28 firmware... Really annoying as 1.26 was actually good for me.... Still waiting on improvements there.....

Anyone recommend a program to convert mkv files to something lower than the 4GB fat32 limit?
Just got a htc media link hd box and want to test it out, thanks.
