*** The official HTC One X thread ***

Yesterday, Telstra let the cat out of the bag - HTC is working on a Jelly Bean update. Today, HTC officially confirmed it and offered the full list of devices that are planned to get the update.

There are no big surprises here - the HTC One X (the Tegra 3-based model), the HTC One XL (Qualcomm S4-based version, known as One X on AT&T) and the HTC One S will eventually be updated to Android 4.1 Jelly Bean.

The smartphone maker will make "timing and other details about HTC and Jelly Bean" available to the public later on.

Is it possible to use an Xbox 360 controller or even a ps3 one with an unrooted hox?

I'd really rather not root after having to send my last hox back with a buckled screen.

Just picked mine up today for £200, massive device, not quite sure yet if I can deal with the size increase over my Lumia 800!

So far though I'm thoroughly impressed, and the display is just superb! Next to my Sensation XE it just looks so impressive!

I don't get what's going on, my battery is draining uber fast with no logical explanation, I'm not using any new apps, I've restarted my phone, tried killing tasks and it's still draining like no tomorrow.

Post some battery screenshots and information. (Screen time, usage chart - the graph thing, and the overview).

I want to try cm10 but I need the WiFi hotspot ' do you known if an external app will work with it ?

To be honest, I've no idea because I haven't paid any attention to it - I just don't use it. I've not read the whole XDA thread yet though, so I'll keep my eyes peeled.

Early impressions are it is running great. Camera works better than the thread suggests, which is nice.

I had to delete a file to make WiFi work as per instructions in that thread, but this ROM does seem to suffer the same issue as other CM ROMs - the thing changes the device's MAC address somehow. I only notice because I have MAC filtering on my access point instead of using passwords.

It's a bit odd really.

Apart from that, it's buttery smooth etc ;)

Im going to install CM10 now

Which version are you installing?

I've been happy with it, though I've only had it on there a few hours. It'll be interesting to see what battery life is like on a full day, and I still don't like the fact it changes my WiFi MAC address.

Also, according to CPU Spy, the thing isn't dropping into Deep Sleep mode, though that may be reporting wrong. It is apparently reducing the CPU to 51MHz, which may be the same thing.

Two options. First, which is difficult if you don't have a 3G connection either, is to download Root Explorer. That's obviously an explorer app that has root access so can delete anything.

The other option is to do it via a windows command line using the app that I can't remember the name of! Is it ADS? AWD or something like that? You can delete files that way, but I've honestly never done it so can't help there.

Actually, there are two other ways, one that may not work. That way is to use a Terminal emulator if there is one installed by default. I can't remember if one is, or if that has root access, but you could use that and navigate to the right folder then delete the file. You'll need to know a few Linux commands, obviously.

The more nuclear option is to delete the file from the zip BEFORE you flash it. That might be your best bet to be fair.

Hope that helps!

(EDIT) In the time it took for me to write all that you edited your post. Meh! :D

I've unfortunately jumped ship to the S3, as good as the One X is, the S3 is better by a considerable margin. :(

I watch all of the threads in this sub-forum though! I also have JB on the Galaxy Nexus so don't feel desperate to try it on the X or the S3 until the builds are perfectly working.
