*** The official HTC One X thread ***

1650mah vs 1800mah batteries - I think the overall difference in longevity will be minimal

Shouldn't the big LCD2 slurp the juice a bit more though?

It will boil down to use too, if you do a lot of listening to music for example the larger battery will be better as the screen will be off more, etc.

The One S and X have the same camera so there is no reason whey they should differ, maybe some software tweaks are needed.

different SoC's mean different video encoders - I think the Snapdragon is a bit more advanced in this department compared to the tegra. I don't fully understand how the Sense chip ties in though.

The LCD used here is supposed to be very efficient - I think a lot of the slurping will be done by Tegra3 when being stressed.

White phones tend to dirty over time for those who have image as a high concern. Screen is without a doubt the battery muncher according to the onboard, sys and co are within normal levels.

Dave, did you speak to customer services or retentions? My 24mth contract has ended with TMob although I had one of the 3GB contracts - I'm hoping that I can keep that allowance!

I went straight to the leaving T-Mobile option and requested a PAC. The guy then offered many discounts, which I had built up over the last two years on my current contract. I mentioned the One X being available elsewhere and that T-Mobile where slow this time round getting it priced (first with Desire).

I can't remember now if he said this Thursday or next Thursday - anyway he's giving me a call as soon as it comes in :D

Possibly this Thursday if it passes QC - Orange stock page says it's out this week and while we don't explicitly share delivery schedules, they tend to be pretty close.

I know you are a fan of the metal, but the polycarbonate is superb. It oozes quality and provides a very different feel.

I think you'll agree!

I had a play around with one of these in a 3 store today and while I certainly agree that it feels very different, I'm not sure it oozes quality. It's not as nice as the Sensation anyway. That said, it doesn't feel cheap either.

I was slighty worried about it being a bit too big but I can't say it was any harder to use one handed than my Sensation.

how are people managing to get prices out of t-mobile.

I have called them twice and both times they have said they don't have the prices up for them yet.

They were going to offer me the sensation xl for 21 a month. thinking thats not that good anymore. :)

right went down the leaving t-mobile PAC code route and managed to get the below deal. Been on sim only for 3 years so don't have as much a discount.

£21 a month
300 minutes
500 texts (unlimited Booster)
250 MB Download DATA (but with t-mobile its unlimited browsing)
£100 Up front for the Phone.

so £604 in total. For a Phone thats £490 sim free. Thats not bad in my eyes.

Just been to my local 3 store and had a play with the 'X' all I can say is I like it lots more in the flesh than I did in the reviews, feels great in the hand, work mate came with me and said he was impressed with its looks and speed of the device, screen scrolling, camera, video etc, screen colours look to pop more than my work iPhone 4s screen and the handset felt thin in my hand which works great for me....

They offered me the below:

£35 per month
2000 mins any network/landline numbers
5000 text
5000 mins 3 to 3 calls
Unlimited data - No fair usage (Didn't see detail on this) Tethering allowed
Free handset
24 month contract, can upgrade after 21

Then I went to O2 who didn't seem to have a clue about the handset release and the packages she offered were shocking! Will need to go to retentions if I want to haggle on O2 I think..

Average deal above guys?

Thanks Mart

I just called t-mobile to see what they could offer me and they said nothing, they don't have the phone yet to make any upgrade offers...

So I asked for my PAC code and called Three but all the offers they gave me where over £800 for a 24month contract.....

So scratch T-Mobile and Three for me

HTC Evo One looks perfect, shame we won't see it in the UK :( It should give the SGS3 a run for its money with these rumoured specs...

  • 4.7" 720p IPS screen.
  • 28nm S4 Snapdragon processor.
  • 2650mAh non-removal battery.
  • 16GB internal memory.
  • microSD card slot.

Go via dial a phone or something, 600 mins, unlimited texts (3000), 1gb net, £59.99 for the phone but you get £65 back from quidco atm.

Works out at just under £28.50 a month, or £680 for the entire contract.
