*** The official HTC One X thread ***

Been on the phone to T Mobile, they have this from next Thursday in Black.

As an existing customer I can keep my existing contract now @ £15.88 per month with 300 mins, 300 texts + 500MB data for another 24 months and only pay £100 for the phone. Works out the same price as sim-free even with their contract price rise in May :D

Had the same deal with the original Desire two years ago. Gonna root that and give to my brother.

However they are slow at doing Android updates

Dave, did you speak to customer services or retentions? My 24mth contract has ended with TMob although I had one of the 3GB contracts - I'm hoping that I can keep that allowance!

Could I have the S with the polycarbonate back and 32GB please.Thanks.Bye!

Both phones are pretty large but the polycarbonate looks stunning, gets rid of the annoying two tone that HTC have been obsessed with the last couple of years. The amalgamation of sense and ICS actually makes Android look nice for a change too so I'm tempted by one of the above depending on what they look like in the flesh, certainly a lot nicer than the GS2 and Nexus... Hopefully it'll be as smooth as WP as well (and it better be with the amount of extra power it has, not that that has helped many of the other "super" android phones...).

Smoothness is down to gpu acceleration which all Ics based phones will have.

You'll get your wish at the end of the year, in both Android and WP8 flavours. :)

Oh and err plasma electrolytic oxide treated aluminium is better than glorified polystyrene. The best in satellite technology vs a rather annoying packing material? Tough choice ;):D

The old 'plastic is rubbish' gag? I've got a few more!

Heard about the new Nokia made entirely from bubblewrap? Pop, Pop, Pop, you have now!

;);) (one extra wink for Todge)

I think he's joking, there is nothing wrong with the body of the One X. It's excellent.

Glad to hear it. Need to find one of these to have a play with, my contract is up in 2 months. The Sensation has been and still is absolutely fantastic, which leaves me in two minds:

a) It's fantastic so obviously its replacement will be even better!
b) Just keep it...

Not sure which yet. I suspect build quality will swing it.

I know you are a fan of the metal, but the polycarbonate is superb. It oozes quality and provides a very different feel.

I think you'll agree!

Are they in stores? I shall track one down this weekend. I really love the feel of the Sensation, it's spot on.

Would like to see a review of the One V. I am not interested in the phone but it would a good idea of how much of an improvement ICS as it's fairly underpowered.

Found a demo unit in a Three store today and had a play. I had concerns over the size of the One X, but in the flesh, it was not an issue. The whole phone feels well made and the screen is stunning.

Although subjective, the polycarbonate body felt much nicer than the normal plastic bodied phones. Definitely decided to order this phone and not wait for an S3.

Possibly yes, I'm sure there are plenty kicking about.
