*** The official HTC One X thread ***

Anyone come across this issue yet?

I cannot follow the instructions as written there as they dont match the options on the One X. Also if I enter the details manually (IP address etc) then I cannot click on connect, only cancel.

Anyone have any ideas? This is a wifi network at work btw, so cannot reset the router.

Not seen this issue on either my One X or on my Desire before that. Gets an address fine both on my home wifi and at the local coffee shop.

That sounds brilliant - I've still got 5 odd months to go till my contact is up but would love to keep my 3gb FUP on this contract as it's become more and more useful - been going over 1gb monthly fairly regularly of late!

Will wait it out but am soooo tempted to get this phone as soon as possible although I can wait and see what happens to contract prices etc once the SIII is out!

I didn't get offered this!! Waiting to see if this week they call me back otherwise I'll be upgrading via the website for £150.

Eugh, my battery is on 49% already today, I'm at work and only have 6minutes screen time!? Whats going on!?

Is there a way to see specifically whats zapping it? It just says "Android OS" is using the most. I don't have wifi on either.

How long has your phone been running/

What are the % for the top battery drainers?

If anybody that ordered from dialaphone wants to get themselves a free set of beats headphones, give them a call and tell them you were promised a set with your order and remind them that their twitter account also said the phone would come with beats:

Somebody told me that they gave it a try and got a £36 cheque as compensation so I gave it a go. Initially they tried to fob me off by saying the headphones included are beats compatible but I told them I was specifically promised beats headphones (I wasn't) and their twitter account said the same too. I was put on hold and then told that they're sending a set of headphones out to me in the next couple of days :D

Taken the plunge. Spoke to Vodafone this morning with regards an upgrade.
I've got the phone for free:

£36 month
600 Minutes
Unlimited Text
1GB Internet (U/L first 3 months)

Was either that or pay £199 for the handset to stay on my £31 per month deal.
Not the greatest deal out there, however in all honesty I'm not the greatest customer (with regards my bills) either :)

Got full signal.

Pretty pathetic? I swear my batt seemed ok when I was at home..

Maybe it's an option I have on or something?

Any advice appreciated, I'm new to Android!

Yeah it shouldn't be like that.

First of all, try restarting the phone. It's a long shot, but maybe you have an inaccurate reading.

secondly, HTC released an update, have you updated your phone?

cool. might do the trick for my issue below:

Hi. i currently use Pulse RSS reader and notice how its very very slow retrieving updates and adding new rss feeds when using my wifi.

when i use my 3g connection via T mobile, its fine?

Chrome browser seems fine on wifi, so does gmail, But i notice that even facebook and tweetcaster is very very slow using it via wifi.

Any suggestions?.

I tried tweaking my netgear router by reserving a local IP for my device and still diddnt work. im with"BeThere" internet.

The signal strength is max bars according to the device and my internet connection on my pc's are fast and acting normal. i am using a netgear DG834GT router.

Thanks in advance

When I check for update it says there isn't one. I have an unlocked + unbranded handset.

May of found the problem, been playing Words With Friends (scrabble), noticed I had a setting on that checks for new moves every 5 mins, and the process was always running even when app was closed. Reckon thats the problem?

Turn it off and see :)

Otherwise, start disabling your installed apps, one by one, to see what's causing it
