*** The official HTC One X thread ***

Got mine today from T-Mobile - cheap 300min/500MB deal for 24 months @ £16 and phone cost £129 - so overall £21.40 a month.

Really like the way you can export contacts from you old phone in one go via Bluetooth on the setup - seamless. I don't use SIM contacts...so excellent. Couples have lost their first names mind.

Getting used to the new widget style (i.e. placing stuff) spent ages looking for add widget - its not there! Music is next - DoubleTwist better work!

anybody found when going back to the home screen they get a loading screen?

That has not happend to me yet but its a very annoying Sense quirk :(

Anyway in regards to NFC i found a very good shop online who sell loads of different accessories with NFC, E.G stickers and keyrings.

I wanted a few stickers to stick in the car and around the house to automate apps. I sent them this messaage and this what they said

Im a bit of a newbie when it comes to NFC but here goes,

I jave just gotten a HTC One X and i saw on the android play store you can program NFC Tags to launch applications. I was wondering what the best solution would be to have a tag in my car, When touched with the One-X it would be able to launch Google Maps, Mute calls and enable Bluetooth, id want a few tags that can do thse sorts of jobs

What is the best tag to get for this sort of use.

Thanks and sorry if my question is a bit stupid

Hi

Absolutely no question is a stupid question !

There’s a few apps available now for this kind of thing - NFC Task Launcher for example. Generally, these Apps just store a really small ID on the tags which the App reads and then carries out the action. Because the information is so small, you can use any of the Ultralight or NTAG203 tags on our website for this.

Generally, if you can find the tags you want in NTAG203 chip, then go for that option. It’s a newer chip with a slightly greater reading distance and more memory. The ‘older’ Ultralight is still very good though and you won’t have any problems – plus it’s available in wider range of products such as keyfobs and wristbands and so on.

For what you are looking for, we probably suggest going for a few 38mm NTAG203 round white, a few 25mm NTAG203 round white and then perhaps either the NTAG203 ‘standard’ size printed stickers or the new 29mm ultralight round stickers we’ve just got in. They’ll all work with task launcher.

Avoid 1k and Ultralight C chips. These are specialist chips and either won’t work fully with your phone or you’ll just get reduced performance for no benefit.

You might also want to check out a blog written by one of our regular customers. It’s written for the Xperia, but I think it tests out the task launcher app as well.

Hope that helps !

Yeah the home screen and loader. hangs with loading on the screen. will try and get a screen shot next time it happens.

also got some screen errors in the internet browser, abut worried I have a faulty unit.

This makes no sense to me at all!

Called carphone warehouse - yep 36 a month, 2000mins unl texts unl data - magic.

Called T-Mobile (who the upgrade would be through) We can do that only if you pay a one off fee of 40. How does that even make sense? How does carphone warehouse make money out of it?

I'm totally confused that to save money I'm adding on a middle man, MIND = BLOWN.
