*** The official HTC One X thread ***

A very glowing review from the people who really know what they are talking about.

It's really easy to recommend the One X to those currently in a search of a cutting-edge smartphone - the specs and design combo it offers can't be matched by any other device currently on the market. We certainly loved the One S for its versatility, but the One X is the proper choice for geeks - Tegra gives you access to exclusive games, the HD display certainly is something and, more importantly, there's more screen estate than on the One S.

Should be getting mine later (stock permitting).

Morning!

Are you getting a case Robbo? I'm thinking just the HTC ONE X BLACK LEATHER SLIP CASE - PO S650 and that it?

Are you going to root and pop a custom rom on too?

Not right away, but I do use slip cases sometimes. I much, much prefer them to the (usually plastic) ones you clip to the phone. They are just awful.

That HTC one looks good, I had the Desire HD equivalent ages ago and it was quite nice.

Are you going to root and pop a custom rom on too?

Eventually probably but not at the moment.

I must say I am extremely impressed with the service from Affordable Mobiles. They had a few stock issues, but they've emailed me every day, and rang me up yesterday and told me exactly what's going on, that they've sourced some replacement units, but that they come with a full size SIM so they're also sending me out a micro-SIM (not that it matters, I know I can cut mine to size :p), and that they are on track for a delivery today. This morning, I recieved a text saying I can expect the driver to deliver between 1.30 and 2.30 today, and that if I wish to change the date, simply text back with a date and time. Very pleased with them :D

I'll let you know if the "expected delivery time" holds true later ;)

Oh, and they've also sent me a free car charger and bluetooth headset by way of apology for the stock issues :)

interesting news about improving battery life:

Lee!!!!

Ive found out where the missing power management options has gone wrong

For some reason HTC misplaced the .apk and put it in /system/bin instead of system/app

You will find it /system/bin/NvCPLSvc.apk and it needs moving to system/app.

For users who already have LeeDroiD installed, use a file manager with root access and move NvCPLSvc.apk from/system/bin to system/app and reboot.

No fekkin way! I was just looking into the contents of that apk whilst decompiling a ton of others... I did wonder.. lmao! :-D

@HTC Epic Fail!

Certainly some interesting caps/config :)

yup

I have found out about someone in germany who just received an OTA Update for his One X some minutes ago. He says that the display flickering with max. brightness and some greyish background has completely gone.

Another thing he mentioned is that Sense does not restart or reload again after exiting some Apps. He just tried many different apps which caused before a Sense reload after pressing the Home Button but this does not happen any more.

Furthermore the Notification Bar in Sense isnt transparent any more. All the glitches caused by Sense applications by pressing fast at the notification bar have been gone.

I will try to find out more, Greetings

Not too bad, could do with a few more minutes.

I'm currently on the same plan but I get 600 minutes for £10.50.

So if I was to upgrade, the handset would effectuality cost me £320.

A good deal as the phone is worth nearly £500!
No use to me though as T Mobile shaft you for 30p per minute on calls outside the allowance!!
This week T Mobile offered me £5 per month for sim only 600 mins, unlimited texts, unlimited internet. I want a One X but I couldn't turn this deal down.

Stay within your call allowance and you have a fantastic deal, get bummed by the 30p per min charges outside the allowance and you will wish you went for a better deal :).
